Julie's Dream - Easel With A Twist

My post today for features Julie's Dream another cutie from the Fairies & Adventurers new release at High Hopes.

One of the "goals" I set for myself at the beginning of the year was to try new techniques, card layouts etc. I have done one easel card before but I decided to give this one a bit of a twist!

I added a Post It note holder to it - just for fun! I found the pattern for the holder portion on the internet - there are lots of patterns out there so it is easy to find the pattern for a size that fits your card.

Card closed

This card is a bit of a challenge to take a picture of. The pinks look red but they are actually a coral version of pink. I wanted to the Stickles I brushed on with a fine tip paint brush to the wings to show.

I also added Stickles to the top right corner and the centre of the flowers - a fairy has to have glitter right!

Cast Your Troubles Away

For my post today, I am sharing Gabriel's Cozy Ice Hut and a sentiment from the Sentiment #1 set from the Fairies and Adventurers new release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

Gabriel sure is having fun in his hut isn't he?!

I think he could care less if he caught a fish!

I stamped my image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers. Gabriel and his ice hut are fussy cut and glued onto the snowflake paper background. I used a black marker to continue his fishing line down into the water and added a hook to the end. Not sure it's tempting to the fish but hey, a guy's gotta try right!

Julie's Moment - Magical Day

Today I am sharing Julie's MomentJulie's Butterfly and a sentiment from the Sentiment #2 set.

The Fairies and Adventurers new release at High Hopes has so many fun fairies, sentiments and "extras" it has been fun to try to find ways to combine so many different elements!

My images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I pre stamped the butterfly antenna's and tail on the edge of my circle, stamped the butterfly twice, coloured and then fussy cut the body & wings and glued them to the "base" I had stamped.

The second set of wings were fussy cut, glued at the body and popped up with a few pop dots.
I added dots around the circle edge with a black Zig Memory System pen. I finished off my card with some mandatory glitter - a fairy has to have glitter no? with glitter gum drops from Your Next Stamp.

Patterned Paper: Totally Scrumptious - The Paper Loft
and Recollections - Michael's

Load Up - Father's Day

A Father's Day post for you today .... on Mother's Day :)

I am blessed to have both my father and father in law in my life and both like to do wood working. My father built my alcohol marker storage for me and my house has pieces of chip carving and carvings from my father in law. Hmmm.......... which one will get this one

I coloured my stamp with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it. I used a sliver gel pen to add some "chrome" to the truck - it is hard to get it to show up in the picture. I was inspired by Wendy McGaffey for this card - thanks Wendy :)

I made this card for Sketch Challenge #13 at Your Next Stamp. I chose to follow the sketch for this challenge.

Barn Doors Open!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!

I spent my morning playing with my Classy Clydesdale stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

My horse Krash had a friend named Drifter he was in a field with for a little while. Drifter (a brown and white paint) liked to play......Krash - not so much, but I'm sure they had a few good runs around the field together even if neither of them will admit it!

I coloured the horses with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them. I stamped my background paper with ink and printed my sentiment from my computer. The barn doors are made by me.......although looking at them now I think they could have been a little smaller.... but once things are glued, they are glued right!? My barn doors were inspired by my friend Jane ;)

Wish For Snow!

I had a few friends that grew up on farms but one of my best friends gave me the best memories I have of snowmobiling growing up.

Her dad bought her a ski doo one year and we spent an afternoon jumping the ditch at the end of the lane and laying it on it's side up the hill at the end of the lane just to see how far it would slide. Of course, we didn't fess up to these antics when her dad found it with a crack in the windshield later that day..................

When I saw Gabriel Loves To Ski Doo in the Fairies and Adventurers new release at High Hopes, it brought back some wonderful memories :)

Gabriel and his ski doo are coloured with alcohol markers (list below) and I added a stripe to the hood of his machine just for fun :). The patterned papers are from Bo Bunny and snowflake(s) are cut out of one of these papers. I added some Stickles for snow coming down - which Gabriel seems to love!
