Wedding Card

My younger brother is getting married this weekend and the wedding colour is a deep purple.

The card I made is a fairly simple layout and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out since most of my cards have a coloured stamped image on them. This is a pretty CAS card for me and it's was fun to do.

I ran some white card stock through my Big Kick using an embossing folder for the background paper. The purple butterfly was made by using a purple alcohol marker to colour an overhead transparency and then cutting the pieces to go behind the wings. I also added Wink of Stella to all of the butterfly wing edges (hard to see)

Card Recipe
White and Purple Cardstock
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker - PL5
Sentiment: Computer - Lucida Calligraphy Font
Classic Oval Die - Spellbinders
Overhead Transparency: Office Supply Store
Lavender Lace Ink: Stampin' Up
Wink of Stella
Butterfly Border Die: Whimsy Stamps
Butterfly Accessory Die: Elizabeth Craft Dies
Purple Crystals: Crystazzi

I hope my brother and his new wife like it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Gabriel Loves Baseball

I played a little bit of baseball growing up but my main game was soccer. When I played baseball I was always put in the out field and it was often boring as not many hits travelled that far........so, I stuck with soccer.

My card today features Gabriel Loves Baseball a new stamp from High Hopes.

I went looking for an easel card with the base shaped like a diamond because when I think baseball I think baseball diamond.I couldn't find anything so I set about playing around to see what I could come up with. It took a few tries and a few misses but I finally figured out the base.

I added a handmade "pennant" and some ribbon painted with metallic paint so it looks like the chain link fence usually seen behind home plate. (it's hard to see in the photo)

I coloured Gabriel with Spectrum Noir markers and sponged some ink around him for the sky. I added the sentiment, some tan card stock (to look like sand) and finished it off with some baseball buttons (with the button hole cut off) and some stars.

Water Ski Dude

I love when you can look at a stamp and it brings back happy memories - either from your childhood or your present.

My post today is sharing Bob's A Water Ski Dude and a sentiment from Sentiment Set #3 from the new release at High Hopes Stamps.

This stamp took me back to my childhood. My aunt and uncle had a trailer and our family would often load up our trailer and camp with them for the weekend. There trailer was at a place where there was a huge lake and they owned a boat......can you see where I'm going with this? lol

I remember my younger brother trying to water ski. He was having a very hard time getting up...........I'm thinking it was because our cousin who was driving the boat was doing everything he could to not let that happen. He would take off fast instead of slowly so my brother could get up. We had alot of laughs that day and he eventually did get up!

Without further ado, my card featuring Bob's A Water Ski Dude.

Super Star Save?

I played soccer growing up. I was often the only girl on an all boys team because they didn't have all girl teams like they do now.....ooopps! showing my age here! I loved playing soccer even if there was some full body contact once and awhile and I went home with a few bruises now and again.

Today I am sharing Gabriel Loves Soccer for the All About Boys new release at High Hopes.

I wanted Gabriel to look like he was diving for the ball in front of the net to make a superstar save. I created the net by cutting some Christmas ribbon I had in my stash I had found in a dollar store. I "pounced"  it with  white ink to tone down the gold mixed in with the white in the ribbon. The goal posts are made from grey card stock.
I fussy cut Gabriel (seems to be my thing lately!) and popped him and the ball using 3D foam squares after colouring him with alcohol markers. My card is finished off with a soccer ball button from Dress It Up.

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Gabriel Loves Soccer
Patterned Paper: Recollections, dollar store, and my stash

Smile BRRRR-thday

Today I am sharing the card I made for Sketch and Colour Challenge - #15 at Your Next Stamp.

It's funny how many of my friends and family, love penguins! I didn't know until I started posting cards I had made with penguins and everyone started commenting on them. Waddles is now a staple in my stamp collection tee hee.

It will be hard to decide who gets this one for their Brrrrr-thday!

I masked off the penguins that were sitting to stamp the penguin with the balloon in the background. I popped the sentiment up with pop dots. The gold stickles are in the party hat tassles (it's kind of hard to see) and then sponged the edges/background with ink.

I chose to follow the sketch for this challenge

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Waddles - Happy Brrr-thday!
Spectrum Noir Markers
Patterned Paper: Imaginisce, Recollections
Gold Stickles
Dies: Oval - Spellbinders, Fishtail Banner - Your Next Stamp
Ink: Ocean - Martha Stewart

For The Bride

My brother is getting married at the end of the month and some of his bride to be's friends decided to throw her a dinner before they get married.

It has been a last minute type situation and although I will be unable to attend, I am still sending a gift for a game they want to play with her and of course... a card.

I had to keep things simple with it because I also have a jam packed weekend and this card needs to be ready by Monday - tomorrow! (I found out about this on Thursday)
I used a couple of dies, made some background paper and voila! No colouring on this one which is not "normal" for me either!

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Words Background- Local King Rubber Stamp
Ink: Stampin' Up Pretty In Pink
Dies: Vines & Nesting Rounded Rectangles - Whimsy Stamps
Gown - Quickutz
Ribbon: from my stash
Rhinestones: from my stash

I hope she likes it! Thanks for stopping by!

SK8R!!

We had a skateboard when we were kids. We used to skateboard down a hill that was pretty much straight down and ended on another street. The speeds we reached were........well, let's just say I wouldn't want to know - and we never knew if there was a car coming until we were at the bottom..a little late if I do say so now!

I grew up with two brothers, one of which is still an adrenaline junkie to this day. So when we went skateboarding, I HAD to "keep up with the boys" tee hee. I don't remember any major injuries from skateboarding (I don't know how there weren't!) but we did have some pretty good spills!

Seeing this stamp from the new All About Boys release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps brought back so many good memories! It was so fun to do!

I coloured Gabriel with alcohol markers (list below) and fussy cut him and popped him up with pop dots. My background is some brick paper cut to look like he is skating in front of a wall that is falling down. I added some mini splatters on the wall for a "graffiti" look.
I used a die to cut out the hill he is skating on from cardstock and dabbed some grey and black ink on it to make it look like concrete. This "hill" is also popped up with pop dots. I finished it off by adding some YNS gum drops.
