Phew! Happy Harvest!

I have one more Fall/Halloween inspired card to share with you today. I can't believe it's the last day of August already!

"Harvest Harry" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps sure seems happy about harvest being started. He is exhausted! Guarding crops is a tough job! I think he already has his bags packed for vacation!

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I fussy cut Harry leaving a thin white border. I added some blue paper behind him after running it through an embossing folder. Paper from Echo Park was perfect for this card. I added some fun wheat and bobbles as an embellishment for something different and fun. The sentiment was created on my computer. A few of my favourite - gumdrops - finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Harvest Harry (S032), High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Calibri font - computer
Patterned Paper: The Story of Fall by Lori Whitlock - Echo Park

Christmas Happy Mail

Today I am sharing a card I made for a "Non-traditional Colours" Christmas challenge.

I am ink and glitter up to my eyeballs but I had so much fun putting this one together. This one is pretty CAS for me but I am very happy with how it turned out.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I gave my manicure scissors a run for their money and fussy cut it. The background was creating blending two different shades of blue and some coloured "snow". I used a border embossing folder to create my edge on the second piece of white and added some sparkly gumdrops to finish it off.

Stamp: Penguin Happy Mail by Crissy Armstrong - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment: Scandi Christmas - Whimsy Stamps
Snow: Spoonful of Snow - Stampendous

Hello Kitty

I am on staycation this week. The weather has been beautiful but today is feeling in to the upper 30's so it is not nice to day to be doing much outside.

It is however, the perfect day to have a little play in my craft room. I have had this stamp for a little while now and I have been itching to play with it.

After coloring this super cute stamp with alcohol markers I fussy cut it out. I chose to use Happy Summer from Echo Park for my paper. After cutting out my "pieces" I assembled my scene. Some white gumdrops finish off my card.

My mom used to say this to me when I would almost be falling asleep eating because I was so tired from playing outside all day.

Fresh Apple Pie

I hope you are enjoying all the fun Fall/Halloween stamps the design team is sharing this month.

This is "Milton's Fall Harvest". He looks so proud of all his apples! For me this stamp reminded me of all of the fresh, warm apple pie and apple crisp my mom made when we were growing up. She sometimes made apple dumplings too but not too often so they were a special treat for us.

Close Up

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I cut him out using a stitched rectangle die. I added some paper from Jillibean, Carta Bella and some from my stash. I added some texture by running some plain cardstock through an embossing folder and using some burlap ribbon. The sentiment was created on my computer. Milton is popped up with pop dots as there are lots of layers of paper underneath him. A quilled apple from my stash finishes off my card.

Krptnght

Today I was getting my fingers inky making my little brother's Birthday card.

He got the car of his dreams for Father's Day so I have been trying to figure out how to incorporate that into a card for him.

I remembered I had a licence plate die in my stash so I pulled it out. After cutting it, I printed his personalized plate name on it and stamped an older version of a Camaro. To be honest, as I am writing this post I realized I had spelled his plate wrong so I had to go and redo it... sigh.... but I think this one is right now lol.
Some twine and a few black gumdrops put the finishing touches on my card.

This is the picture he posted - I got as close to the green as I could with the inks I have. I hope he likes it! Gulp!

Card Recipe
Stamp: Voitures - Carabelle Studios
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Wasabi and Leaf Bud - Martha Stewart
Twine: Baker's Twine
Sentiments: Blue Highway and Calibri fonts - computer

Happy Fall

I can't believe it's Thursday again already!

As I write this post, we are in the middle of a brutal heat wave. We have had temps with humidity feeling into the 40's most of the week. To play with a fall image definitely helped me cool off and it reminded me the cooler, sweater weather is coming!

This week my card features "Tommy's Fall Fun" and the "Happy Fall Y'all" sentiment. I have been known to jump in a pile of leaves the odd time with my nieces and nephews . I think a pile of leaves brings out the kid in all of us doesn't it?

Close Up

I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. I used some bright, fun paper and added some clouds, a fence and some grass to create my background. I added a big leaf - out of my comfort zone for sure - to the corner and added my sentiment (I only used part of the sentiment and cut it apart). I used a leaf punch to create some more falling leaves and rolled them on a pen to give them a bit of dimension. Adding my favourite - gumdrops - finishes off my card.

Wanna Hang Out?

Happy Wednesday OCS Fans!

I had a little bit of fun with my card this week. I challenged myself...to use tissue paper and material instead of patterned paper. It was an interesting experiment!

I used "Just Hanging Out and Bat" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

Close Up

After colouring the stamps with alcohol markers I fussy cut them out. I went one step further with my fussy cutting and cut out our cute vampire's cape. I added some pale orange and silver material from a Halloween bag I found. Sparkle was also added to the bats just for fun.
I used some white tissue paper I received with a gift - I wanted a used piece so I had some texture. I very carefully! stamped my cob web and fence and glued it onto the back of the black frame I made out of cardstock. I used some orange and black patterned paper to create a second frame and mounted it to black cardstock. The sentiment was created on my computer and voila! A couple orange gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Just Hanging Out (R125), Bat (H267) High Hopes Rubber Stamps

"Cape" - Halloween Bag

Orange Gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

Waddles Birthday Shaker

Most of my family have Birthdays in July and August so they are busy, busy months to try and get everyone's cards made.

My sister-in-law loves penguins like alot of my family and friends so it's always a challenge to find new penguin stamps to use.

For her card I chose to use one of the super cute Waddles stamps from Your Next Stamp.

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers, I fussy cut him out with my manicure scissors. This stamp set has matching dies to go with them and they are on my "wish" list for sure.
The sentiment is stamped with the "Happy Day Sentiments" set also from Your Next Stamp. After mounting my backing on the card, I added some silver beads and sequins from my stash. My favourite..gumdrops finish off my card.

I am entering this card in the YNS Sketch Challenge #45.
This card is my take on the sketch:
