Spring Follows

Welcome back High Hopes Fans!

I can't believe it is Thursday already and my turn to post some inspiration for you. I also can't believe it is my last post for April already - Yikes! where is the year going?!

I had some fun playing with "Country Outhouse" this week. Honestly, coming up with a sentiment was probably the hardest part. It was definitely a challenge to keep my cheeky, dry sense of humour at bay.....I will save those sentiment ideas for my brother's cards I think.......

After colouring up my stamp with alcohol markers, I fussy cut it using my faithful cuticle scissors. It was then added to an ink blended background I had on hand from a "play" session awhile back.
The paper from the It's A Girl Dots & Stripes collection gave me the perfect country feel back drop was looking for.
A matching fence cut out with my Cricut and some flowers added a spring feel. Some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops were added to the flower centres as well as the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped and cut out with a fishtail banner die.
I just realized there is a flower missing from the roof that I accidentally cut off and forgot to add back on.......shhhh ...don't tell the boss!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Country Outhouse (R109- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Spring Follows (LL009) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Live Life

Welcome Back OCS Fans!

I have one last card to share with you from the new Think Spring release from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

My card for today features the oh so pretty "Adrianna" and the "Life In Bloom" sentiment. Adrianna looks like she is ready for a prom, wedding or even a birthday party don't you think? The possibilities with this beauty are endless.

This image is also the perfect to practice colouring hair and folds in fabric.....something I need to practice more! but I'm ok with the results on this one.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I cut it out with a stitched rectangle square and popped it up using some foam dots. Some Bo Bunny paper was the perfect colour palette for this beauty. I had another paper combo picked but well.....let's just say the colours weren't quite right when I was done colouring.

Some Crystal Stickles added to the flower centre and the underskirt for a little bling. Some lacey corner dies, cotton lace ribbon and glittered gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Adrianna (TT113) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Life In Bloom (GG021) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Without Change

I am beyond honoured and excited to be a guest designer at Miss Daisy Stamps today!
When I received the stamp that I was to use I couldn't have been more excited! Butterflies have a very special meaning to me especially yellow butterflies. details.

Allow me to introduce you to "Becca's Butterfly" from Miss Daisy Stamps. How adorable is she with her butterfly friend and so super cute outfit!

After printing my stamp to the size I wanted I coloured it with alcohol markers and cut it out using a classic circle die. The sentiment (comes with this stamp when you purchase it) was printed and cut out. I added some Diamond Stickles to the butterfly wings - I like a little bit of bling on my cards . It is hard to see in the photo but I added some white polka dots to her hair bows and cheeks just for fun.
A cloud die, some baby blue ink and a dauber helped me create my clouds. Some corner dies, sparky gumdrops (enamel dots), and some crochet lace ribbon finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Becca's Butterfly - Miss Daisy Stamps
Sentiment: Becca's Butterfly Bonus File (included)
Patterned Paper: Bloom and Grow - Simple Stories
White Gelly Roll Pen, Diamond Stickles, Baby Blue Memories ink, Corner die set - Whimsy Stamps, Crochet Lace Ribbon - stash, Forever In Time Pop Dots, Ice Ice Baby Sparkly gumdrops - YNS, Classic Circle die - Spellbinders, Fiskars circle cutter.

Spectrum Noir Markers: FS5 FS2 TN2 FS8 EB6 EB3 EB5 FS6 CR3 CR1 TB8 BT9 TB9 CG1 DG2 DG4 1G1 CR7 CR11 DR6

Bubble Your Troubles

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I don't know about you but after "one of those days" at work or after doing a trade show there is nothing like going home to a hot bubble bath!
My favourite bubble bath of all time was called Chocolate Fudge Sundae- the whole top floor of my house smelled like chocolate! Unfortunately they don't make it anymore - had I known that I would have bought a case or two!

Our challenge theme this month is Anything Spring - so I think Burt having a bubble bath in a bird bath after a spring rain is fitting don't you?

My layout is based on this month's challenge sketch (below) but sized for an A2 (4.25"w x 5.5"h) sized card - just to challenge myself a little.

Burt was coloured with alcohol markers and then using my corner rounder punch - yes I had to dust that one off! the corners were rounded and added to cardstock. He is popped up using some pop dots to add some dimension.

The sentiment was created on my computer. Some sparkly Stickles were added to all the bubbles (kinda hard to see in the photo). Some ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Burt's Bath (R103- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: computer - Lucida Sans font
Patterned Paper:  Lullaby - Pebbles
Tuxedo Black ink - MementoMisti, Star Dust Stickles, corner rounder punch, Galena ribbon, Pop Dots - Forever In Time, White Sugar and Sparkle gumdrops - YNS

Spring Loaded

Happy Wednesday OCS Fans!

I have had a ton of fun playing with all of the images in the High Hopes Think Spring release!

This week I chose to use the "Hedgies Spring Loaded" stamp and the "Spring Is In The Air" sentiment.  These two just make me smile! We all need a little help from our friends once and awhile don't we? I added some freckles and belly buttons to them just for fun.

My card layout is done based on this month's challenge sketch - have you played along yet? I changed a few things to "make it my own" as they say - I added my sentiment to the top corner instead of a banner and the third piece of paper behind the stamp was switched out for a fun die shape.

The stamp was using my Misti and coloured with alcohol markers, cut out using a stitched rectangle die and mounted on patterned paper from Bo Bunny. All of the edges were inked with a matching brown ink. Some matte enamel dots and ribbon finish off my card.

Stamps: Hedgies Spring Loaded (TT120) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Tire Swing Fun

We are finally enjoying some Spring temperatures! After a brief blast of winter by mother nature last week, this week is temperatures in the teens and pretty sunny for the most part. It just makes me want to be outside!

My card this week features "Swinging Shannon (front and back), Blossom Tree Branch, Sign Post and the Get Your Happy On" sentiment. Shannon is attached with some thread so when the card is open she swings a little from side to side. She could also be wound up before closing the card and she was spin when the card is opened - fun right?

The Back Side

The Inside

All stamps are coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut. Her bows, shirt and patch on her knee are paper pieced with patterned paper from Carta Bella. A puffy cloud die gave me some fun clouds to add. Two different sentiments and some glittery enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Swinging Shannon Front (S124), Swinging Shannon Back (S125), Blossom Tree Branch (UU003) - High Hopes

Hello Sunshine

Thanks for popping by! This week my card features "Willow" and the "Hello Sunshine" sentiment from the Think Spring new release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
To be honest, I have stepped out of my colour comfort zone with this one. This is the first time I am using black for hair colour and black in my card layout. It was fun to push myself out of my creative box with a little help from a super talented crafter and friend Cheri - thank you for the push!

Without further ado, let me introduce you to Willow.

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers  and cut it out with a stitched oval die. Stickles on the dots in her hair, the flower stem and the bottom of her dress gave me the little bit of sparkle I love to include on my cards. A black frame cut with a floral oval was the perfect touch, along with a butterfly banner in matching colours. The sentiment is stamped directly on my patterned paper - love my Misti for this! Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Tillie's Cleaning Day

Welcome back High Hopes Fans!

This month we are our challenge is "Anything Spring". I don't know about you but as the snow melts and the sun starts shining in the windows, my mind goes to Spring Cleaning and all the things I should be doing. Quite honestly my thoughts don't really stay there too long sometimes shhh..don't tell!

Our friend "Tidy Up Tillie" started some cleaning but I think may be regretting that decision - what do you think?

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I added some brown pencil to her dirt spots on her cheeks - I am sure she has more dirt all over her! I came up with the sentiment in my head and created it on my computer. Some ribbon and a few matte gumdrops finish off my card.
Tillie also popped up with foam dots just for fun and I used a silver gel pen on her trouser buttons.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Tidy Up Tillie (S128- High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Bunny Hugs

Happy Wednesday OCS fans!

Have you had a chance to pop by the OCS website to see the full "Think Spring" release from High Hopes yet? There are so many cute, fun Spring and Easter images I honestly can't pick a favourite - can you?

This week I created with "Bunny Hugs" and the "Some Bunny Loves You" sentiment. We all need a hug once and awhile - why not from a soft, squishy bunny?

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers then fussy cut it. As my card design came together I realized I need some kind of backing on her to make her pop a little so I cut her out again leaving a thin white cardstock edge. Since I had the white cardstock out, I cut a doily and ran it through a polka dot embossing folder to add some texture. A couple pieces of die foliage and some "stamens" from my stash were added to flowers to create my embellishments. A few matching crystals in the flower centres and some polka dots on her skirt finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Bunny Hugs (TT115) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Some Bunny Loves You (HH055) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Over The Moon

Welcome to Day 2 of the April new release in the Whimsy Digital Shop.

This release is full of so many fun images it was hard to decide which one to use! I chose to make my card with "Over The Moon". This stamp has so many possibilities! How cute would this be on a new baby card - the nursery rhyme pops into my head

I started by printing off my stamp to the size I wanted and  colouring it with alcohol markers. I cut it out using a classic circle die and then used a stitch mark die to add the stitches and added it to a lacey circle die cut.

I sized and printed my sentiment and used a matching stitch oval die to cut it out and mounted it on cardstock. Matching paper was cut out using a fishtail banner die and some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Over The Moon - Whimsy Digital
Sentiment: Vintage Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps
Summer Breeze Enamel Dots - Whimsy Stamps

Bunny Blossoms Easter

Hello OCS Fans! Can you believe it is April 1st already!?! I know I can't but it's is a fun time because a new month means a new release called "Think Spring" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and a new challenge!

My challenge inspiration card features "Bunny Blossoms" and the "Happy Easter" sentiment from this new release. I just adore this bunny - so cute!!!

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers then cut it out using a stitched square die. My card layout is based on the new sketch to go along with this month's challenge. I have included the sketch below.

The patterned paper I chose is from Bo Bunny and I added a paper doily from my stash in the corner. It is hard to see in the picture but I added some Stickles to the hearts in the banner and the little dots around the flowers - I like my "bling".  It is hard to see in the photo but I used a chalk pencil to add a few light blue clouds just for fun. A button, banner and some twine finish off my card.

Stamps: Bunny Blossoms (TT114) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

My Peeps

I can't believe it is April 1 already - and that's not a joke

A new month means a new release and a new challenge! The "Think Spring" release is so full of super cute Spring and Easter images I'm sure it will be hard for you to choose a favourite - I know it was for me!

I am happy to introduce you to "Garden Lamb". How cute are these two?! I can see him being used for a new baby, Easter or Spring card can't you? I chose to do him as a card to send just for fun. I used this month's challenge sketch (below) for my layout.

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. I cut my patterned papers from an older Doodlebug pad and then stamped my sentiment directly on to the paper.
A die cut butterfly and of course my fav....gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Garden Lamb (TT119- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
