All You Need

You may think I have lost my mind with this weeks card .......I mean cars and flowers together?! Not normal right? but there is a bit of a story behind the inspiration for this one .
My bestie has just gone through her second cancer surgery and to say the least she is my hero! When she is down we often get a little crazy when we are chatting just to lighten the mood.
We call each other Thelma and Louise and we often joke about grabbing a convertible and just driving........where we end up no one knows - we just hope we don't end up needing bail money . I asked her one time what colour of convertible she wants me to get...the answer purple!  And thus the inspiration for this weeks card was born. I love that "El Classico" is a convertible and that the "Tank of Gas" sentiment was a perfect fit!

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to cover any white I had missed.
I used a classic circle die to cut my shape and added some clouds with ink and a cloud die and dauber. The patterned paper is from my stash and Lawn Fawn. Some matching roses and rhinestones from Kaisercraft were the perfect finishing touches.

Drive People Crazy

Happy Monday OCS fans!
I am high jacking the blog today to share a fun card I made using the newly released "Love Bug" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Just don't tell the boss okay? Maybe she won't notice? giggle

I wanted to spread some "happy" with this card and well, truthfully I'm kinda known to be the crazy one once and awhile so why not embrace it right? I am hoping my bright coloured bug and papers will bring a little smile for you today because Mondays are hard!!!

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers, I stamped an extra one on a post it note and fussy cut it to mask my car. Next I grabbed my inks and sun ray stencil to add the rays around the car. After that was done I fussy cut around the tires and bumpers to fit on top of my embossed card stock "hill". It is hard to see in the picture but the bumper and around the headlights was done with silver Wink of Stella for a little added sparkle.
Some fun crazy arrow paper from Bo Bunny was perfect for this card. Some simple twine and gumdrops finish things off.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Love Bug- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Crazy - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Believe - Bo Bunny

Your Best Miles

I have a couple of nieces and nephews who are old enough to drive and have their own vehicles.
After I get over feeling old, I try to come up with Birthday cards that are unique to each of them. My latest card is for a nephew who is turning 18 in July - Yikes! Hopefully he doesn't have a need for speed like this stamp suggests...hmmm...maybe I should rethink this and the gas card I was going to include with it.......

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to cover any white I had missed.
Paper from Basic Grey and some from my stash were perfect for my masculine themed card. I cut out the licence plate for the background and stamped one of my sentiments directly on it - I see now it's not actually straight but I'm the "crazy aunt" so I decided to leave it just for fun!
The second sentiment is actually one long sentiment but I masked it off to stamp it so I had a stacked sentiment. Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Need For Speed- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Best Miles, Happy Birthday Block - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, stash
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Licence plate die - Quickutz, gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

Gone Fishing

We have the best neighbours! They are always ready to lend a helping hand if we need it and their children definitely keep us feeling young! If I had 4 year old energy for half a day I could get a whole lotta stuff done!

Since our neighbour loves fishing and his Birthday was this week, I needed to make him a card not only full of Birthday wishes but also to thank him for being such a great neighbour. I also knew that the rubber  "Large Mouth Bass" stamp by DoveArt for Whimsy Stamps would be perfect for his card!

Masculine cards are always a challenge for me. After colouring this gorgeous stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out with a square die. I added some fun watercolour paper for my background and just a touch of matching plaid for a masculine feel. I stamped my vertical sentiment (link below) and added it to the side of my stamped image. Some simple matte dots finish off my card.

Country Style

Howdy Whimsy Fans!
It is the 15th of the month and time for a new Whimsy Anything Goes Challenge.

I am a country girl at heart so when I saw the "Country Style" by DoveArt rubber stamp I just knew I had to add it to my horse and western stamp collection.......yes admittedly I have a collection.

I am absolutely in love with this stamp and it has fast become one of my favourites!

After colouring my stamp with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I cut it out using a stitched square die. I wanted to keep the layout simple for this card so the focus stayed on this gorgeous stamp.
I added my stamp to some matching cardstock, a simple piece of gingham paper and added some twine and a wooden horseshoe.

Full Throttle

I hope you have been enjoying the new Modes of Transportation release!

Today I got to sit in the drivers seat and colour up one of the race cars from this release! My hubbie's favourite pastime is to go to the track with his buddy who has a car he races and help him for the day. I am sure this is what he sees as the car flies down the track and I am also sure his buddy is going full throttle!

I coloured up this fun car with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it.
Some bright, matching paper from Scrapberry were perfect for this stamp. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out . Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

The Scenic Route

Welcome to the new "Modes of Transportation" release from High Hopes Rubber Stamps!
This release is full of fun ways to "get around"! There are classics, cute and even some racers!
I had some fun playing with "Ron's Royce" and the "Scenic Route" sentiment.
Who is coming with me on road trip with me in this gorgeous car?!

I can already feel the sun on my face and the wind in my hair!!!

For this card I actually coloured my mountain and sunset background scene first and set it aside. Next I coloured my car - all of my colouring was done with alcohol markers - and hand fussy cut it.
I had a piece of patterned paper with different coloured cameras on it so I had cut one out for my card.
To go along with my scenic route feel, I added some polaroid photo frames - I would be stopping to take pictures of course
All the paper and die cuts were edged with vintage photo distress ink and the grill of the car was done with a silver sparkle pen.
A few matching gumdrops finish off my card.

Stamp: Ron's Royce -  High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Scenic Route - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Thank You Friend

Sometimes you have someone come into your life that is a total surprise. A person who does everything they can to help you or do something nice for you and they ask for nothing in return.

I have had someone just like this pop in to my life in the last little while and some how saying thank you for everything she does for me isn't enough. When I saw the oh so adorable Keira digital stamp I knew she would be perfect for a thank you card.

After printing my stamp to the size I wanted, I coloured it with alcohol markers and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. Next I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a stitched oval die to match.
Patterned paper from Julie Nutting fit my stamp and card theme perfectly. A banner die with a heart, crocheted ribbon and gumdrops finish of my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Keira - Digi Doodle Studios

No Clue

This week I am having some fun with Little Sleuth and Watson from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
I don't know why but these stamps both make me giggle. Today we find our friends looking at the list of clues to try to figure out what event they will be celebrating. Watson has his nose on the gifts....I think he thinks the gifts will be for him and contain treats!

After colouring the stamps with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut them and ran a black Memento marker around the edge to fix any white I had left. I had some fun on my computer coming up with a list of clues and then printed them on lined paper in a light grey. I wanted them to feel mysterious which is why I printed them in grey. I used a letter edge die to make the list look like it had been ripped off a pad of paper.
After cutting my patterned paper to size I stamped some confetti on one - again in light grey and it adds to the clues.
The sentiment comes as one sentiment in two lines but I masked off each line and stamped them separately. Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Little Sleuth, Watson -  High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - No Clue
Patterned Paper: Lost and Found - MME, Wood and Notebook - Snap Basics

I coloured this adorable stamp with alcohol markers and added some clouds using a cloud die cut and ink. Next I cut it out with a stitched oval die. I sized and printed my sentiment and cut it out with a matching die. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish of my card.
