Slapshot Stanley

Heads up people! Stanley is on his out door pond practicing his slapshots! He's pretty good but one may just go awry........
I made a little out door scene for Stanley using my version of a Z fold card.

I coloured Stanley and the trees with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut them. Next I created my card base by cutting a piece of card stock at 5" x 10". I scored one side at 2.5" and folded it. I temporarily placed my snow drifts on the card so I could see how much of an angle to cut off. It is hard to see in the photos but the snow is actually textured and very glittery. I also cut and added some deer in the background just for fun and a snowflake or two.
Some matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Oh Deer!

I'm sneaking in with another Christmas card today. I feel like I won't ever get to the end of my "to do" list but "North Pole Reindeer" just had to be coloured and put on a card!
I paired him with the "Oh Deer" sentiment because yikes - Christmas is just around the corner! and I used the "Gift Of" sentiment inside this fun card fold.

I coloured the stamp with alcohol markers and added some liquid applique for the snow. After it dried I applied heat and it got nice and puffy and it adds some fun texture to the card.
I measured, cut and scored the card stock and used some pretty snowflake paper from Carta Bella. Next I stamped the Oh Deer sentiment, added it to matching card stock and added it to the front piece of the card so it looks like a tab. After stamping the inside sentiment I added it to matching card stock and glued it down. A simple berry die cut, ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Waving Snowy Heart

Doesn't this waving snowy just make you smile?!? He is so fun in his heart shape with his big smile and wave. I think he is perfect for sending holiday wishes to family and friends!
I can't wait to send this card and hopefully bring a smile to their face just as big as Snowy's!

I stepped out of my comfort zone for this card. I gravitate towards the lighter papers in a paper pad and but today I challenged myself to work with one of the darker papers just to shake things up a little in my crafty world.

After colouring this cutie with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut him and popped him up with foam pop dots. The grey on the stamp is silver Wink of Stella and very sparkly in person.
The large snowflake was cut out using some glitter paper to match the glitter in the heart. I kept my design quite simple for this card because I wanted the focus to be on this adorable stamp.
A sweet holiday sentiment, ribbon and glitter enamel dots finish off my card.

I Believe!

Christmas will be here before we know it and Santa and Rudolph are already meeting to plan a magical Christmas Eve for everyone!
I think these two "Christmas Pals" spend a lot of time together when it's not Christmas too and are the best of friends!

After colouring up this cute pair with alcohol markers and hand fussy cutting them I added some bling to Santa's suit with Stickles and Rudolph's wreath bow with Wink of Stella. I set them aside and got my side step card die out and cut the base. Some light blue starry paper was perfect for the background for these two. I added some sparkle to each star with Stickles.
I had a wood sleigh and reindeer in my stash I made with white acrylic paint and I added some bling to them with a clear sparkle pen (hard to see in the photo). I inked all the paper edges with antique linen distress ink. Some sparkly ribbon, gold bells and gumdrops finish off my card.

Unassembled Snowman Love

I'm popping in today to share some "Snowman Love"! My Mom loves snowmen and has a collection of them that sit on the front window sill every Christmas. I think this stamp is perfect for her card this year. I always love going to her house and seeing what she has added to the collection this year.

This is an A2 size card and was a huge challenge for me because I usually make square cards. I have been watching my dear friend Lora create incredible cards at this size so I wanted to give it a go. You can see the card that inspired me here. Thank you Lora for inspiring me to step outside my comfort zone and just wing it!

After colouring up this adorable snowman with alcohol markers I cut him out using a hand stitched rectangle die. I cut my patterned paper pieces from Echo Park to fit and set them aside. Next I took two dotted rectangle dies and cut them to create the frame from the stamp. I glued down all the pieces and added a fun snowman sentiment. Some matching ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Winter Birthday Wishes

The High Hopes design team has been busy sharing Christmas cards over the last number of weeks. This week I am going to shake things up a little! "Polar Bear Family" is from the new Christmas Release and perfect for Christmas cards but also for winter Birthday cards!
I love when I can use a stamp for multiple occasions!

I coloured up this cute family with alcohol markers and Prismacolor pencils. After the Stickles on their hats dried I hand fussy cut them using a thin white edge. I set them aside and went through my paper stash - yes it is huge and I need an intervention - to find the perfect papers. A new patterned paper pad from Echo Park fit the bill.
I chose my card stock and after cutting a piece to fit the space I used a circle die to cut a hole in it and ran through a snowflake embossing folder to add some texture. I made this card at a crafty friend of mine's place and sadly forgot to write down the name of the folder. I popped the stamp up with foam dots and some matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Flying Christmas Wishes

I'm flying in with some Merry Christmas wishes with "Flying Gnome" from the New Christmas release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it! I love cardinals and I love gnomes so this stamp is the perfect combo for a high flying Christmas card!

I coloured up this high flying duo with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I questioned my sanity when I had to cut around the holly and berries and caught myself holding my breath a few times but it came out okay.
When I saw the Warm and Cozy paper pad from Echo Park I knew this paper would be perfect for this stamp. I added a "tree line" with a pine tree stamp from my stash to add some depth to my card. I thought the scripty Merry Christmas sentiment was perfect for this high flying duo. A few holly leaves, ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

It's Cozy Season

We have had a couple blasts of winter where I live. Not just cold temperatures but some snow as well. As I type this, we are back to green grass but from the weather forecast that won't be for long.
I have to be honest, winter is not my favourite season but like this adorable "Winter Owl" I do have to go out and about in the snow. I can tell you I know I don't look as cute as he does all bundled up in his hat and scarf!

After colouring this cutie with alcohol markers, I cut him out using a circle die. I added some Stickles to his hat and to the ice and snow on the branch. I chose patterned paper in blues from Echo Park as I thought they helped with the "cold" feeling for my card. Some glitter paper icicles, matching sparkly ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Merry and Bright Pony

Sharing a card I made for a challenge that includes two of my favourite things - ponies and plaid!  When I saw this winter ponies set I had to have it. They fit perfectly in to my horse and pony stamp collection.......and yes I do have a collection!
The ponies in this set just make me smile and a perfect for Christmas cards for my horse loving friends.

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. The matching dies for this set are on my wish list so I will have to see if Santa can fit them in to my stocking. I created some snowy hills using a double stitched hills die and some glitter paper. Some trees from Memory box, matching sparkly snowflakes, ribbon and gumdrops finish off my scene.

Merry Christmas Eh?

I am having some fun with Leaping Lewis and the Frozen Skating Pond from High Hopes. I did some ice skating growing up but I don't remember practicing leaping in the air like the talented Lewis! If I were to be honest, I preferred roller skating to ice skating but Lewis is scoring a 12 with this jump and his Merry Christmas wishes don't you?!

I decided to make this stamp combo in to a bit of a different scene card then I usually create. It is a 4.5 x 4.5 card base and I decided to make it an easel style card. After colouring my stamps with alcohol markers and Prisma pencils, I hand fussy cut Lewis and set him aside.
Next, I held my breath and cut the pond to fit the size I needed. I added some Nuvo glitter accents to all of the snow areas including behind Lewis which is hard to see. Prismacolor pencils were used to add a smidge of blue to the edges of the ice and I coloured the trees twice so I could fussy cut them and pop them up with foam dots.
I wanted Lewis to "stand up" off the card but didn't want to use an action wobble so I cut a tiny piece of thin card board, bent the ends and glued them to Lewis and my card. This helps him stand off the card and he does bounce a little too just for fun.
Some simple twine and enamel dots finish off my card.

Believe Snowman

I love snowmen and I am excited to be able to introduce you to "Believe Snowman" from the Christmas Release 2 at High Hopes.
He and his bird friends are too cute and the perfect way to spread some Christmas cheer! I tried to keep my card layout fairly simple to keep the focus on this sweet stamp.

I coloured up this sweet stamp with alcohol markers and cut it out with a circle die. I used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut a card stock piece to put behind it. Star Dust stickles was added to the snow on his hat and the roof tops, and sign. Sprinkled Sugar stickles were added to the snow - this one goes on clear but dries with sparkly texture - so fun! and perfect for snow.
Next I got out my big kick and cut out some pine leaves and snowflakes. The snowflakes are from a border die I have. I just cut them and then trimmed the flakes and curly cues out that I wanted. The top flakes are popped up with a foam dot and are cut from matching glitter paper. Some glitter ribbon and gum drops finish off my card.

Musical Wishes

I am so excited to share this snow globe with you from the new "Christmas Release 2" at High Hopes Rubber Stamps!!!

The Drummer Penguin, Evergreen Trees 1 and 2 and Musical Wishes sentiment are also from the new release and are the perfect size to fit into the globe to create my scene.

This 6 x 6 card is larger then I usually do but it was so fun to make and I may just have to colour up another one as the globe fits perfectly on an A2 size base as well.

After colouring with alcohol markers, I held my breath and hand fussy the globe. A black marker around the edges fixed any white I had left behind and I added some silver gel pen to the strings on the drum.
Echo Park was my go to for the patterned paper and I added some burlap ribbon from my stash. To add some shape and sky to the globe I coloured it with some blue Prisma pencils and popped the whole globe up with foam pop dots to add some dimension to the card.
Matching enamel dots and some mini music notes finish off my card.

Milton's Pine

Milton has found the perfect Christmas tree! He is quite proud of himself and looking so manly in his plaid shirt and blue jeans. He sure has picked a beautiful winter day to search for the perfect tree!

I have a secret crush on Milton - he is just so cute! After stamping and colouring him with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut him and ran a black marker around the edges to get any white I had missed. I thought some buffalo plaid paper was perfect for this outdoor themed winter stamp. I found a blue wintery paper for my sky and added some snow drifts and pine trees to create my scene. Some matching twine and a few enamel dots finish off my card.

Just Because Dragon

Dreamy Dragon has been in my stamp stash for awhile now and today I am taking a break from Christmas cards to colour this cutie up. I like to colour something completely different when I have creative block, it often helps kick start the creative train.
I like to have "just because" type cards in my stash to send to friends or family members who may need a little pick me up.
Dreamy Dragon is so relaxed and peaceful and just makes me smile. I hope he brings a smile to whom ever I end up sending him to as well.

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers and Prisma pencils I cut him out using an oval die. I cut a second die for the background and off set it slightly from the main image. I chose patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and inked all the edges with antique linen distress ink to make the layers pop a little.
I will probably end up mailing this card so my embellishments of ribbon, shaped sprinkles and flowers helped keep my design mailable.
Twinkle Stickles (hard to see in the photo) were added to the flower centres and the dreamy dots around the dragon. I cut a cloud die and used baby blue ink to create my clouds for the background.

Warm Penguin Wishes

Anyone else have a sibling who told you this was a good idea? I have two brothers and I can vividly remember my older brother convincing me to do this....on a metal toboggan!!!!!
This stamp sure brings back some fun memories and it may just be the perfect card for my older brother this year don't you?

I coloured this fun stamp with alcohol markers and cut it out using a fun handstitched die. I chose some paper from Photo Play for this one. I have been making a lot of Christmas cards lately and wanted something different from the traditional colours of Christmas. I added some Stickles to his had and some Nuvo drops to the icicles for just a touch of bling. A silver snowflake charm from my stash, ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.
