Winter Holiday Selfie

Our winking snowman friend has gone on a winter holiday. Of course he went somewhere cold so he doesn't melt!
He stopped to take some selfies along the way and is sharing his favourite one with you........along with a few that didn't work out so great.

I used the Winking Snowman and the Mini Snowman set to create my card and with some masking magic (okay a post it note) I used two different sentiments to create one new one.

After colouring my stamps and hand fussy cutting them I ran a black maker around the edge to get any white I may have missed.
Next, I cut my cardstock, patterned paper to size. Since I had my Big Kick warmed up I cut my polaroid frame and filmstrip at the same time. I built my scene using a stitched border die and pine trees.
Then came the fun! I coloured two of the matching mini winking snowmen and cut them in half to make my "selfies gone wrong" in the filmstrip. Some icicles, twine and a few snowflakes finish off my card.

Monkey Love

Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away ... already! Where has January gone?!
My post today features the oh so cute "Heartstrings Monkey" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
How fun is this cutie with his heart love banner!?!

After colouring up this cutie with alcohol markers I cut him out with a circle die. I used a dark brown Prismacolor pencil to add some shading and my Fiskars circle cutter to cut a card stock circle to go behind him. I chose patterned paper from Reverse Confetti and laid out my card base.
This card is done for the Bazzill Basics Paper sketch challenge so the design is based on the challenge sketch.

I added a fun heartstring banner, gingham ribbon and gumdrops to finish off my card. There is also clear Spectrum sparkle pen added to the monkey's hearts and all of the paper is edged with antique linen distress ink.

Are We There Yet?

We are not really having what is considered a "normal" winter where I live. We usually have a ton of snow by now but we really don't have much to speak of.
It makes it kind of challenging for the little ones who like tobagganing!

The stamp I have used on my card today reminds me of my younger days when the neighbours came over and we tobogganed all day. We had the best hill right beside our house so we didn't have to go far.
These three friends bring back some fun memories and we may or may not have had a couple times where one of us was the beaver on this fun stamp!

I coloured this fun stamp with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I set it aside and created my background using a birch tree background die and some birch tree patterned paper. The die is sized to fit an A2 size card so the trees on the main card base are actually cut apart from the finished die cut. I used a wavy edge die to create my snow hill and inked all of the paper and tree edges with antique linen distress ink. I added some fun glitter paper snow flakes (hard to see in the photo) cut out with a punch and added some matching sparkly ribbon to finish off my card.

Hogs & Kisses

Poor Pickles!!!He bought his sweetheart some balloons for Valentine's Day and they seem to have put a little too much helium in them!
For now all he can do is send Hogs and Kisses to his sweetheart and hope he back in time for the big day!

I coloured Pickles with alcohol markers, cut him out with a stitched rectangle die and set him aside. Next I grabbed some white card stock, a dauber, blue ink and a cloud die cut and created my sky background. This is an A2 size card so I cut some background pieces out of my cloud paper. The second cut in the background is for some added interest. The sentiment is stamped directly onto to the background and some matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Winter Roses Birthday

I am so excited to finally have time to colour some flowers! It has decided to be winter where I live - it supposed to feel like -30 by the morning and it's snowing so it is a perfect day to pull out my Prismacolor pencils and colour some winter roses. Roses are my favourite flower and just make me happy!

I need some Birthday cards so my colouring practice is perfect to make a few cards to add to my stash. You can never have too many on hand!

I started by colouring my flowers with Prismacolour Premium Pencils and then hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge.
I chose my patterned papers and cardstocks and cut them to the size I needed. Both of these cards are 5.5" x 5.5". Next I roughly placed where the flower would go on my layout and cut a circle and oval shape. My Misti was perfect for placing my sentiments in the perfect spots!
Some pearls and enamel dots finish off my cards.

Card Recipes
Stamp: Winter Roses Background - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiments: Everyday Mini Moments, Every Day Moments (retired) - Whimsy Stamps
Patterned Paper: Lullaby - Pebbles, Wood and Notebook - Simple Stories
Enamel dots - Gina Marie Designs, Pearls - Recollections, circle and oval dies - Spellbinders

Prismacolor Pencils:Yellowed and Spanish Orange, Sunburst and Canary Yellow, White, Olive, Apple and Spring Green, Chartruse, Henna, Clay Rose, Blush Pink Deco Peach, White, Prussian, Kelly and Apple Green

Wild Thing

I am getting out of Christmas card making mode and jumping in to Valentine's Day cards. I don't make many of this type of card to be honest but sometimes you have a stamp that comes into your life that needs to be a Valentine's Day card!

"Snuggle Lions" was just that stamp for me.....although now I think it would also be perfect for an Anniversary card............

This card went sideways from my original plan. After colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and went around the edge with a black marker to cover any white I may have missed. Here is where things went awry...the paper and design I had chosen were just not working together with the stamp! Even after walking away for a day it wouldn't come together!

So, I chose some paper from MFT and a different design and put my card together. I had to use my fussy cut stamp although I don't think it looks fussy cut on this white background. Next I took a small heart die and after roughly placing where I wanted the lions to be, I cut three hearts.

The sentiment is one large sentiment but with some masking and help from my Misti I was able to split it up and stamp directly on to my paper. Some glossy enamel dots finish off my card.

Skiing Winter Fun

I personally am not a skiier, haven't really even given it a whole lot of "try" but when I did it honestly wasn't my favourite winter sport.
The only skis I really like are the two on the front of a snowmobile.

I do have friends that enjoy skiing though so I had them in mind when I was putting together my card for this week with "Skiing Snowman". I put him on an action wobble because this is probably what I would look like if I tried skiing again!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge and set him aside. I built my background using tree and hill dies and paper from an old Bo Bunny collection.
I used only a portion of a sentiment so after masking off what I didn't want, stamped it and cut it to fit. Next I added my snowman to an action wobble and added it to the card. Some twine, a silver snowflake charm and glitter Nuvo drops finish off my card.
