It's A New Year!

It's New Year's Eve and time to welcome a new year. I think it goes without saying that most of us are ready to say good bye to 2020!

I am getting the party started with Trumpet Penguin and Flute Penguin from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. We can't have a party this year but we can have our own  in home celebration - however that might look. Either way it is time to say good bye to 2020. Wishing you all health and happiness in 2021.

Happy New Year!!

After stamping and colouring the stamps with Copic markers I added some gold Wink of Stella to their hat bands and the heart - the pic doesn't show the sparkle that well - and hand fussy cut them.
Patterned paper from an old Simple Stories pad was perfect for the celebration feel I wanted for this card. I didn't have fireworks paper in my stash - gasp! but this paper makes it feel like there are some off in the distance. Next I die cut a banner and then cut it again using the matching patterned paper to fill in the banners.
Some glitter enamel dots and ribbon finish off my card.

Santa's Coming!

Santa  Claus parades have been cancelled this year because of the pandemic. Where I live, there have been a number of fire departments, businesses and not for profit groups that have chosen to do a drive by Santa "parade" because they didn't want the kids to miss out on this event.

Santa and a few of his elves are escorted either on a firetruck, a float or in a vehicle to different streets in town to give the kids some candy and pick up their letters to Santa. Rumor has it Santa will write back to them - cool right?!

Road Trippin' Santa from High Hopes Rubber Stamps reminds me of the 2020 version of the Santa parade. He has the coolest car doesn't he?! and it's a convertible to boot!

I stamped and coloured this fun Santa with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut him. I added Stickles to his hat and silver Wink of Stella to the rims, present bows and the swoop on his car. I set that aside and cut out the sky using a licence plate die. I added some houses and snow banks to create my scene. Next I stamped the sentiment, mounted it on matching card stock and tucked it under the patterned paper. A bow and enamel dots finish off my card.

Merry Christmas Eh?

Christmas is just around the corner and I have made another card to add to my stash. I need to get them in the mail but like usual I am late on all that. Probably because I am having too much fun creating the cards! I love Mudzie and Chopper from the High Hopes line up - they are always up to something!

For this card Mudzie and Chopper are being patriotic and sending a cheerful Canadian Christmas greeting eh?. Meet "Canadian Christmas Greeting" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

After stamping and colouring this fun pair with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and created my snowy sky scene and base with paper from Echo Park and Carta Bella. Die cut trees and snowflakes help finish my wintery scene.  Star Dust Stickles were added to Chopper's hat and the ornaments on Mudzie's antlers. Both the stamp and sentiment are popped up with 3D foam pop dots. Some twine and enamel dots finish off my card.

All That Is Dear

Is it just me or does the adorable "Peeking Ginger" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps remind you of a seasonal flag hanger or character stocking holder you can get with the hook to hang the stocking by the fireplace and it sits on the mantel?

I think Ginger is adorable! and I wanted to create a card where she is holding a "sign" with a fun Christmas message.

I stamped the adorable Ginger, coloured her with Copic markers, hand fussy cut her and popped her and the "sign" up with foam dots. I added some gold Nuvo glitter drops to her "icing" for that touch of bling I like to include on my cards.

Next I stamped the sentiment and cut it to the size I wanted. I went old school and pulled out two gold eyelets to create my "flag" and I used gold thread to "hang" it. My favourite - enamel dots  and some gold thread along the bottom finish off my card.

Christmas Smiles

Santa gets his picture taken a lot over the Christmas season. Did you know he does practice photo shoots!?!

Santa Portrait and Three Pane Santa from High Hopes Rubber Stamps have caught him having some fun and practicing to get his smile and the twinkle in his eye just right!

After stamping and colouring my stamps I hand fussy cut each one and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I may have missed. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the hats and set them aside to dry. Patterned paper from Photo Play was perfect for this fun design.
I didn't have a polaroid die that was small enough for my design so I cut a piece of card stock to the size I needed and then used a square die to cut out the "portrait" space.
My film strip die is larger then the three pane Santa's so I cut a strip of card stock and patterned paper and added the panes in kind of a faux film strip and added two of the three Santa's to it. The third Santa was added in the top corner with a banner die behind him. I did some creative masking to combine two different sentiment stamps to make the sentiment.
Some ribbon, snowflakes, a camera charm and enamel dots finish off my card.

Your Superpower

I am taking a break from Christmas cards and colouring and creating with a stamp that makes me smile and touches my soul.

I have wanted it since it came out last year and I finally got my hands on it. It is called Transformation and I think it is gorgeous! I think I am going to find a frame for this one and put it up in craft room.

I stamped and coloured the stamp with Copic makers and then hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. It is hard to see in the photo but the butterfly has clear sparkle pen on it as well.

I wanted a subtle background and clean and simple look to my card so I cut a piece of white card stock to size and added some pale yellow ink. I stamped the sentiment directly on to the paper and added some clear enamel dots to finish it off.

Stamp: Transformation - The Ton

Snow Friends

I try to let my friends know how much they mean to me on a consistent basis but at Christmas is one of my favourite times to remind them how special they really  are to me.
This year Christmas will look different for all of us I'm sure and I have been missing being able to give my peeps a hug and will especially miss giving them their Christmas hugs!

"Snowy's Friends" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps just makes me smile, reminds me of my peeps and is a way for me to send a hug in a card to one of them.

I stamped these cuties, coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out using a circle die. I added some Stickles to the white on the scarves (hard to see).
I kept my design simple and cut a matching cardstock circle using my Fiskars circle cutter. A few sprigs of pine and a sparkly snowflake cut out of a snowflake border were the perfect embellishment along with some matching sparkly ribbon. A stamped sentiment on matching cardstock and some enamel dots finish off my clean and simple design.

Let Heaven and Nature Sing

When I was younger used to participate in Christmas carol singing with some friends. We would go to seniors homes, gather on their front porch or yard and sing Christmas carols for them. My favourite stop was my Grand parents house. They would come to do the door and listen to us sing and they always had huge smiles on their faces and Grandma always had a little snack or treat for us.

Mudzie and Chopper Caroling from High Hopes Rubber Stamps are doing the same, spreading some Christmas cheer with some singing and have brought back some fun memories for me!

After stamping Mudzie and Chopper I hand fussy cut them and used a black marker around the stamp edges to cover any white I may have left. I set them aside and cut my patterned paper and cardstock to fit my base.
The card size is 4" x 5" and is a new base size for me. My crafty friend Cheri introduced me to this size - thank you Cheri! - and it is perfect for this stamp.
I used a border, lampost, fence and music note die to cut the pieces for my scene.
Next I stamped and sized the sentiment and put it on matching cardstock. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Define Naughty

I try very hard to be good every year but I am human and have my moments - wink - so my letter to Santa this year includes a card with a special request....

I figure if I get this card featuring "Christmas Gnome" and a mix of sentiments from High Hopes in the mail to Santa soon, I may just have time to get off the naughty list if I'm on it......

I coloured this handsome guy with alcohol markers and then cut him out using a rectangle die. Some Stickles were added to the trim on his boot. I decided to keep my design clean and simple for this one and chose some patterned paper from PhotoPlay to help bring my design together.

Next I masked the Santa ...I Tried sentiment and stamped just the beginning of it followed by stamping the Define Naughty sentiment - both are trimmed to fit and mounted on matching cardstock. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Cozy Season

And the stockings were hung on the tree with care, in hopes that Santa will stop here......because wildlife loves visits from Santa too!

"Snowman Stocking" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is the perfect stocking for wildlife to hang from a tree branch to make sure they don't get missed.

After stamping the stocking and colouring it, I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I added some Stickles to the top and toe - I like a touch of bling on my Christmas cards.

Next I cut my patterned paper to fit the A2 size base and cut a pine branch for it to hang from. A piece of twine was added to be the stocking "hanger".  I stamped and cut the sentiment and added it to some matching cardstock. A matching ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Penguin Winter Wonderland

I started colouring this stamp last year and didn't quite get it done apparently.

I have a lot of people on my Christmas card giving list who love penguins so I am glad I could get this one finished for this year's stash. Meet "Penguins Carry The Tree" from Whimsy Stamps. Hopefully one of my family and friend penguin lovers will like this card.

I coloured these cuties with Copic markers, added some Stickles to the hat, hand fussy cut them and ran a black marker around the edges to get any white I had missed. I kept my design quite simple using some black and red gingham and winter sky paper. Next I cut a stitched snow drift to put behind them and added some die cut snow flakes. Enamel dots and a mini sentiment finish off my card.

Merry & Bright Gnome

I love gnomes and when I saw this Let's Go Gnome stamp from Polkadoodles I had to have it! I bought it to make Christmas cards last year but Christmas came before I had a chance to use it.

I have been on holidays this week and it has been the perfect time to hide in my craft room and create cards for this year's Christmas card stash.

After stamping this cutie, I coloured it with Copics and cut it out using a rectangle die. It is hard to see in the photo but the "snow flakes" have Star Dust Stickles on them - I like a bit of bling on my Christmas cards. I added some fun polka dots to the deer's scarf and white dots to the gnome hat and mitts with a gel pen.
Patterned paper from Echo Park fit the bill for my design.
Using a curvy edge die I cut some snowbanks to create my background, added some trees from Memory Box and popped the stamped image up using foam pop dots. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Stamp: Lets Go Gnome - Polkadoodles
Sentiment: Holiday Mini Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps

Christmas Magic

The most wonderful, magical time of year is just around the corner and I am celebrating this magical time with Santa In Chimney from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

Only the magic of Christmas could help Santa fit in a chimney that is way too small, help reindeer fly and get the presents delivered in one night all over the world. It's all magic!

I stamped Santa, coloured him with Copics and hand fussy cut him and popped him up with foam dots. Stickles were added to his hat and coat trim for a touch of bling. The background is created with patterned paper from Carta Bella, a house die from Gina Marie designs and  a stitched hills die. I used a star dangle stencil to add a magical feel. This didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to because I used Stickles to add the bling and some of the squished and ran together ....but hey - it's magic <wink> and anything can happen! The sentiment was stamped and added to some matching card stock and ribbon and glitter enamel dots finish off my card.

Blue Rose Smile

I coloured this stamp a few months ago and today the design for this beauty popped in to my head.

Roses are my favourite flower and blue is my favourite colour so why not combine my two faves?! I love colouring flowers as they remind me of my Grandma. She used to come and plant our flower beds every spring. We didn't have rose bushes but the types and colours she put together gave us beautiful colours all season long.

After stamping and colouring these gorgeous roses, I hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I added a silver foil (so hard to photograph foil!) half circle behind it. I stamped the sentiment directly on the white cardstock and that finishes off my CAS design.
