Flower Gnome Birthday

I love all of the gnomes in the Summer 2020 new release! Flower Gnome is in the house this week! I wish he would move in to my gardens. He could work some magic for me don't you think? Hot, dry, humid weather has brought out the bugs and they have had a feast on my favourite rose bushes!
Since he probably be waving some magic in my gardens any time soon, I have created a birthday card with him for someone who loves gnomes and flowers.

After colouring this cutie with alcohol markers and adding some sparkle pen to the heart I hand fussy cut him using my trusty cuticle scissors. I chose paper from the It's A Boy collection from Carta Bella for this A2 design. To make the frame I took two rectangle dies, taped them down and ran it through my Big Kick. One of the sentiments from the Mini Sentiment Set #1 was the perfect size and fit for my fish tail banner collage. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Willa Smiles

Willa is absolutely adorable and makes me smile. I have had a few experiences with mice in my home and office but none of them are as cute a Willa from the new release! I love her big smile and can't help but smile with her. I hope the person who receives this card will smile too!

I coloured the adorable Willa with alcohol markers and cut her out using a pleated lace square die. There is some Twinkle Stickles on the bee wings just for a little bit of bling.
Next I grabbed some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and cut them to size for my design. I added some die cut flowers in two of the corners and finished my card off with a bow and enamel dots.

Meet Fred!

I am an animal lover and dogs are some of my favourite so when I saw Fred in the new Summer 2020 release I had to have him!
His head tilt just makes me laugh and adds to his cuteness! My dog is a rescue named Moe and now that he has finally settled in to this being his house, he has started the head tilt when I talk to him.
Fred is perfect for a birthday card I need for a family member and for a card for a friend to add to my stash. I have big, future plans for the adorable Fred so you may just see him again - wink - he is just too fun!

After colouring Fred in two different colour combos, I cut him out using a square and rectangle die.
For the pink card I kept my layout simple and added him to some paper from Cocoa Vanilla. This card is for my niece (shhh don't tell) for her birthday and is coloured to match her dog and explains the pink lol. Some fishtail banners and a mini paw print were perfect to make my embellishment for the corner. Ribbon and enamel dots finish off the card.

The blue card is for my "to send a pick me up to a friend" stash. After I cut my stamp with a rectangle die I used a hill die to add an interesting edge to the bottom. I cut my card stock to fit and added the same curve.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a journal card die I have in my stash. Some photo corners, twine and enamel dots finish off this card. Fred is popped up using foam pop dots to add some dimension.

Especially For You

July is a huge birthday month in my world. I need cards for male and female, young and older for friends and family.
One of my good friends loves pigs so I went on a hunt for cute pig stamps - there are a ton of them out there! I settled on this cutie from Stamping Bella and I have a whole host of other places to go in the future!
I love this seemingly shy little pig and his bird and snail friend! So cute!

After colouring this adorable stamp with alcohol markers and some Prismacolor pencils for some of the shading, I cut it out using a rounded corner with piercing marks die. I added it to some paper from Cocoa Vanilla, MFT and Carta Bella.
Some rain drop corners were perfect to help fill some space but not totally take over the design. Twine and matching enamel dots finish off the card and a popped up stamp and sentiment add some dimension.

One Stamp Three Designs

I have a confession - I am in love! "Handsome Gnome" from the new Summer 2020 release is my new love.
He is sooo versatile and good for so many occasions! Valentine's Day, Birthday, Missing You, Thinking of You ...and the list goes on.
Paired with the sentiments from the new Mini Sentiment Set #1 this handsome guy is ready to be made in to a card for any occasion.
I couldn't help myself, I made three different cards.......

I coloured this handsome guy with three different colour combinations of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I hand fussy cut two of them and the third one is cut using a tag die.
Red card - I added my stamp to a background circle and used patterned paper from Echo Park. Red ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card. He is perfect for a Valentine's Day card.
Turquoise card - Patterned paper from Stampin' Up was perfect to add my stamp to. He is cut out using a tag die so I put the ribbon through the hole pulled it behind the tag and added a bow. Flowers and enamel dots finish off this card.
Blue Scene - I cut a white piece of card stock to fit my 5.5 x 5.5 base and cut a circle out using an inside out circle die. I die cut and added some fun mushrooms and grass and added them to the inked sky background.

Smiling

This spring I had a pair of cardinals move in to one of the trees at the corner of my front porch. They have since moved on but not before having some little ones. It was fun to sit quietly on my porch and watch mom and dad fly back and forth with food for their family.
When I saw the "Cardinal" in the new release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps I knew I had to colour it up - they are such beautiful birds! They say "when a cardinal appears, a loved one is near" so I'm not sure moved in this spring but I silently smiled every time I saw one of them.

After colouring this beauty with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a circle die and used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut a matching cardstock backing. I set that aside and chose some patterned paper from Stampin' Up to match the coral flowers. Next I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a fish tail banner die. A few added branches, cotton lace ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

It Ain't Summer Til.....

According to the calendar it is officially summer and the weather where I live has been summer like - hot and humid!!!
Beachball Betty from the new Summer 2020 release (click here for to see the full release)  is at the beach and enjoying a beautiful summer day and she has some advice for us all.
I love her sass! and I think I better listen to her advice and find some sand to stick my toes in to when it is safe to do so of course

I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to create an A2 size card instead of my usual square card. Some striped patterned paper was perfect for my summer design.
I coloured the stamp with alcohol markers and then trimmed the paper leaving it long. The sentiment was stamped directly under the stamp and then I trimmed the whole thing to fit my card front and added some matching card stock.
Adorable flip flops, a sun and cloud dies and some enamel dots finish off my card.
