Merry & Bright Gnome

I love gnomes and when I saw this Let's Go Gnome stamp from Polkadoodles I had to have it! I bought it to make Christmas cards last year but Christmas came before I had a chance to use it.

I have been on holidays this week and it has been the perfect time to hide in my craft room and create cards for this year's Christmas card stash.

After stamping this cutie, I coloured it with Copics and cut it out using a rectangle die. It is hard to see in the photo but the "snow flakes" have Star Dust Stickles on them - I like a bit of bling on my Christmas cards. I added some fun polka dots to the deer's scarf and white dots to the gnome hat and mitts with a gel pen.
Patterned paper from Echo Park fit the bill for my design.
Using a curvy edge die I cut some snowbanks to create my background, added some trees from Memory Box and popped the stamped image up using foam pop dots. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Christmas Magic

The most wonderful, magical time of year is just around the corner and I am celebrating this magical time with Santa In Chimney from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

Only the magic of Christmas could help Santa fit in a chimney that is way too small, help reindeer fly and get the presents delivered in one night all over the world. It's all magic!

I stamped Santa, coloured him with Copics and hand fussy cut him and popped him up with foam dots. Stickles were added to his hat and coat trim for a touch of bling. The background is created with patterned paper from Carta Bella, a house die from Gina Marie designs and  a stitched hills die. I used a star dangle stencil to add a magical feel. This didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to because I used Stickles to add the bling and some of the squished and ran together ....but hey - it's magic <wink> and anything can happen! The sentiment was stamped and added to some matching card stock and ribbon and glitter enamel dots finish off my card.

Blue Rose Smile

I coloured this stamp a few months ago and today the design for this beauty popped in to my head.

Roses are my favourite flower and blue is my favourite colour so why not combine my two faves?! I love colouring flowers as they remind me of my Grandma. She used to come and plant our flower beds every spring. We didn't have rose bushes but the types and colours she put together gave us beautiful colours all season long.

After stamping and colouring these gorgeous roses, I hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I added a silver foil (so hard to photograph foil!) half circle behind it. I stamped the sentiment directly on the white cardstock and that finishes off my CAS design.

Stuffie Christmas

I love stuffed animals when I was a kid and these three just make me smile!

I am enjoying some time of work this week and I decided to add to my Christmas card stash with these cuties from Stamping Bella.

I wanted a very clean and simple design and also tried the feathering technique for shading for the first time. I can't lie, I held my breath when I started doing it but I am really happy with the results!

After stamping and colouring these cuties with Copic markers, I hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. Next I chose some Christmas plaid paper from Lawn Fawn and cut it to fit my A2 base. A piece of white cardstock cut with a scallop edge die was the perfect back drop for these cuties.

Holding my breath (again) I grabbed my Misti and placed and stamped the sentiment. The stamp is added with foam pop dots and some enamel dots finish off my clean and simple design.

Mudzie's Gift

Mudzie is patiently....or not so patiently waiting for Christmas. He seems to have found the perfect gift for someone on his list, and I have another Christmas card done using Mudzie's Gift from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I love finding the gifts people on my list want but every once and awhile I find a gift so perfect for someone that they didn't ask for and I can't wait to give it to them. Sometimes I want to give it to them early because I know how perfect it is for them and how much they will appreciate it.

After stamping and colouring Mudzie and his perfect gift with Copics, I added some Diamond Stickles to the gift bow and cut him out using a rectangle die. Patterned paper from the A Cozy Christmas by Echo Park was perfect for this stamp. I stamped the sentiment, cut it and mounted it on matching cardstock. A simple glitter ribbon bow and enamel dots finish off my design.

Baking Love

Christmas cookie baking season is just around the corner! Our favourite to make as kids were what we called sugar cookies. When we were young Mom cut the shapes out and baked them and we decorated them - often with too much icing and too many sprinkles of course but we sure had fun!

As adults my younger sister has a natural talent for making amazing cookies! She uses royal icing if I remember correctly and has created cookies for every occasion and life event. I had a chance to take a class with her last year and I have a whole new respect for her and her decorating talents!

Baking Ginger from High Hopes Rubber Stamps reminds me of my sisters talents and is perfect for a card for her. I have a feeling her secret ingredient - just like my Mom's - is love......

I coloured Ginger with Copic markers and added Twinkle Stickles on her "icing". I hand fussy cut her and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. I have some fun cookie dies given to me by a sweet crafty friend and I decided one of them was perfect for this card design. Patterned paper from Carta Bella and 49 and Market were the right mix and I cut them to size and inked all the edges.
I cut a tag and added some matching patterned paper and put Ginger on it with foam pop dots.
Next I die cut the whisk and spoon and added the heart - how perfect are these for this stamp!? and inked the edges. A ribbon bow and enamel dots finish off my card.

Something Yummy

Fall is fresh apple season - welcome fall! When we were kids, one or our chores was to pick the apples that grew on the trees in our back yard. This wasn't necessarily one of our favourite chores and there may or may not have been a few rotten apple fights over the years.

Annie's Bushel from High Hopes brought back some fun memories! Somehow these apples magically made it in to fresh apple pie, apple crisp and apple dumplings. We weren't complaining about picking them then <wink> so I decided to create a pocket on my card front that holds one of these amazing recipes.

I stamped Annie with tuxedo black Memento ink, coloured her up with Copic markers and hand fussy cut her leaving a thin white edge. Patterned paper from Bo Bunny was perfect and I inked all of the edges to help them pop a little.

Next I measured the recipe card and cut a piece of card stock (an inch larger than I needed it) and scored it at half an inch on one side and the ends to create my pocket. I glued it down and added a matching pull tab to the corner of the recipe. I cut the patterned paper and added an apple eyelet - thank you Cheri! A simple ribbon bow and enamel dots finish off my card.

Cup Of Love

I love my coffee but when the cold weather of fall and winter hits I have a couple of drinks that warm my soul as much as my body. Hot chocolate - with marshmallows as a bonus - brings back a ton of fun child hood memories that make me smile. It was the perfect drink to warm my brothers and I up after being outside in the cold building snowmen and sledding all day.

Snowman's Cup of Love from High Hopes Rubber Stamps makes me smile and I wonder if he has hot chocolate in his cup....

After stamping and colouring this adorable stamp, I cut it out using a rectangle die and added some Stickles to his coat cuffs, scarf and buttons. I set him aside and used a pleated lace rectangle die to cut out a matching card stock backing to put him on.
I used paper from an older Bo Bunny collection to match the subject of my stamp - the cups with hearts are perfect for this stamp.
Next I cut out some icicles out of some glitter card stock that matches the Stickles and stamped and mounted the sentiment.
Ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.
