A Stack Of Wishes

A new year is set to begin in a few days and I don't know about you, but I couldn't have made it through without the help of my peeps! We have had so many fun times and may or may not have had some crazy times too!

The "Perfectly Stackable" stamp from High Hopes brings so many good memories back of some of these times. The crazy times, when my peeps and I let our hair down and just had some good, honest fun! This stamp just makes my giggle! and I have decided that I am the one on the bottom......with the coffee because anyone who knows me knows how much I like my coffee!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year  and my hope is that you have peeps in your life who help you have some fun ....with just a smidge of crazy ;)

After stamping these cuties, I coloured them with Copic markers, added some Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes and cut the stamp out with a handstitched nested rectangle die. I added them to some fun paper from the Holiday Cheer paper pad from Honey Bee Stamps. Then, I stamped the sentiment and added it to the side of the stamp. A few die cut snow flakes scattered around the design and enamel dots finish off my card.

Snowman Sparkle

Merry Christmas to my followers and High Hopes fans!
Christmas is just a few days away and like usual I am still working on a few last minute Christmas cards and like these cuties in the "Snowman Stocking" ...putting up a few decorations.
This stamp is so fun! and the snowmen using their "arms" to hold up the lights just makes me giggle!
Meet "Snowman Stocking"(TDG010) from the Woodland Winter release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I have paired it with the "Sparkle" (FDG011) sentiment and although it is hard to see - added some sparkle to the lights and stars on the "stocking".

I stamped this fun stamp and coloured it with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge so it stood out against the dark paper behind it. I added some Spectrum Clear sparkle pen to the lights and stars on the "stocking". I set them aside and after finding some paper from the Jingle All The Way pad from Echo Park I cut the pieces and card stock to fit my card base.

The finished size of this card is 4.5"w x 5.5"h - not too big and not too small, love this size! I went in to my stash and found some white glitter paper and used it to cut out a Twinkle Scribble die to add behind my image.
Next, I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a fish tail banner die and added it behind the stamp. While I had the fish tail dies out, I cut a small piece of patterned paper to put in the top left corner. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Hello Winter

I have to admit, winter is not my favourite time of year, but it has some absolutely gorgeous days! You know the ones.....when there has been a fresh, wet snow fall that sticks to the trees and the sun is shining and the sky is clear and blue. The sun is glistening off the snow and it looks like little diamonds everywhere, it is literally a winter wonderland.

These are the winter days I enjoy and I have tried to capture that in my card using "Forest (TSG006)" from the new Woodland Winter release and the adorable "Winter Moose (SDG002". My dog doesn't like the salt on the sidewalks so he often doesn't want to go for a long walk even on the most beautiful days so I often try to sneak a bit of one in on my lunch on a walking trail that goes beside my office. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it is truly beautiful!

After using my Misti to do the stamping, I coloured both of them with Copic markers. I hand fussy cut the moose, and used a white gel pen to add some gently falling snow to the forest. I wanted to keep my card design simple for this one and used some patterned paper from the Sugar Plums pad by Doodlebug.
I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a fish tail banner die and added some enamel dots to finish off my card.

Happy Holidays Sled

Winter is here and Christmas is just around the corner and that means there are lots of Christmas and winter decorations popping up on front lawns, porches and houses.

Snowman Sled from the Woodland Winter release reminds me of some of the gorgeous decorations I see in my travels to and from work. My drive is very rural but some of the small towns I pass through have some gorgeous decorations. This stamp reminds me of some the "country" feel decorations I see and that is what inspired my card design. This re release is full of fun winter stamps and perfect for Christmas, winter and winter birthday cards! You can see the full release here

After stamping this cutie with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, I coloured him with Copic markers and hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge. It is hard to see in the picture but there is clear Spectrum Sparkle pen added to the berry branches.
I mixed some patterned paper from Echo Park and Whimsy Stamps to help create my country feel back ground. The plaid paper is cut out using a pleated lace rectangle die to add some interest to my card.  I edged all of the paper edges with walnut stain distress ink and glued them down on my A2 size card base. Next I stamped the sentiment, inked the edges and added it to matching card stock.
I added some cotton ribbon from my stash and some die cut berries, I think they match the stamp pretty well. I added the stamped image with foam pop dots  and finished off the card with enamel dots.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Snowman Sled - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiment - Happy Holidays - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper: Jingle All The Way - Echo Park, Tartan - Whimsy Stamps

North Pole Gift

Who loves sneak peeks?! I know I do and it is my pleasure to share a sneak peek of "North Pole Penguin" who will be available to purchase on Monday! This adorable penguin has some special gifts for Santa and Mrs. Claus so he is waiting for Santa at the North Pole to deliver them in person.

I can never have too many penguin themed Christmas cards - and I never seem to have enough it seems - but this cutie is perfect to add to my Christmas card stash. Don't forget to stop by the High Hopes Rubber Stamps blog on Monday to see the full Woodland Winter release.

I stamped this cutie with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured him with Copic markers. After hand fussy cutting him leaving a thin white edge I set him aside. Next I gathered some patterned paper from Echo Park and cut the pieces of patterned paper and card stock to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base. Then I took a second piece of patterned paper and cut it out with a circle die, and used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut the card stock to go behind it.
I wanted something different for this design so I placed my coloured stamp on the circle and then once I had it where I wanted it, I set the stamped image aside, and marked a small line at the bottom of the circle and cut it off. I laid this cut circle on to the card stock circle and did the same thing. Next, I grabbed a wavy die to cut some snowbanks and an icicle border die to cut the icicles. I glued them down where I wanted them in the circles and cut the pieces off with scissors that were hanging off the edges. Then I added some icicles and snowbanks to the background patterned paper pieces as well.
I stamped and cut the sentiment, added my stamped image with foam pop dots and finished my card off with my favourite - enamel dots.

Stamp: North Pole Penguin - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Not A Bill

I don't know about you but I love getting happy mail! I have most of my packages delivered to my office because the post office is open less hours than I work but I also love getting cards delivered to my home address.
There is something about getting a card especially a handmade one that gives me the warm fuzzies and makes me smile. I like to send cards too - sometimes "just because and of course for the traditional Christmas and holidays.
"Not A Bill" from the Gnome Mania new release will be perfect for me to send to my friends and family who need a pick me up or just so they know I am thinking about them.

After stamping this cutie on Copic marker friendly paper, I colored him cut him out using a cross stitch die and set him aside. Patterned paper from the Cream and Sugar and So Punny paper pads from Doodlebug were perfect for my card. I cut them to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base and to fit the layers for my design. I used a notebook edge die on the edge of one of the pieces and stamped the sentiment and put it on matching card stock and tucked it under the image. A bow and some enamel dots finish off my card.

Rise and Shine!

I am a coffee lover through and through and I am a morning person....after a cup ......er okay maybe two cups of coffee. I love to get up and have my first coffee by myself before hubby and the dog wake up and the house is quiet.

"Still Sleeping" from the new Gnome Mania release reminds me of myself when I get up ....okay not the messy beard but I can rock my bed head like he rocks his messy beard and bunny slippers! He just makes me giggle and I feel like he is enjoying his first cup of coffee watching the sun rise just as much as I do mine.

I stamped this fun stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured him with Copic markers and hand fussy cut him. I set him aside and pulled out the Summer Stems paper pad from Honey Bee Stamps. Using a pleated lace oval die from Gina Marie designs I cut out a background piece for him. I cut an oval with a die out of matching card stock so I had a piece to put behind it.
I love putting a card stock layer behind my paper layers to help separate them and to make them pop. I cut a different patterned paper to become my background on the card base, glued the oval die cuts to it and added the stamped image using foam pop dots.
Next I used dies to cut out a sun and clouds to put in a cluster and some grass to go behind him since he is out in his yard enjoying the sunrise and his first cup.
To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on some matching card stock and scattered some enamel dots around the clouds.

My Mojo

When I am out and about and on the go and my energy is running low, I love that I can make a quick stop at my favorite coffee shop and grab a cup.
This stop has also become a tradition when I am with my peeps and we are heading off to a craft store or when we are travelling to a trade show.
I have some of the best memories of strange, fun and funny things that have happened with my peeps in a drive thru.....especially if there are construction cones around....but that is a story for another day <wink>
I love when a stamp brings back fond, warm memories and "Drive Thru" from the Gnome Mania release sure does that for me!

After stamping and colouring this fun stamp with Copic markers I cut it out using a circle die. I used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut a card stock circle to put behind it. Next I found some patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps that was perfect for my card theme. I cut some of the matching "plain" paper in a strip to put behind the stamp and added a row of houses die cut.
Using the same plain paper, I measured and cut a frame to put behind everything. I stamped my sentiment, cut it and mounted it on matching card stock. A few matching enamel dots finish off my card.

High Temperature

Gnome Mania has taken over the High Hopes blog and website and if you love gnomes there is sure to be something in this new release for you!

They are doing some fun things like colouring, fishing, sewing, knitting and so much more! Be sure to check out the full release (here)! The one gnome who may not be feeling up to joining the release party is "High Temp" who is under the weather and is joining the party from bed under his favourite blanket. Hopefully he feels better soon!

I stamped this cutie with Tuxedo black Memento ink and coloured him with Copic markers. I hand fussy cut him and added black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. Patterned paper from two different Honey Bee Stamps paper pads helped me create the bedroom where our sickie is resting. I created a window by cutting the paper with a square die and using the same die, I cut a piece of grey card stock to fit the outside edge of the die and ran it through my die cut machine to create a window frame.
To create my curtains I traced the inside of the die lightly on card stock, measured it to find the centre point and then drew an "R". I cut one side out, flipped it over, traced it and cut out the second one. I added some twine to make it look like they are tied back. Again, using the same square die I found a piece of snowy sky paper and cut a piece out to fit in the window.
To create the floor I cut a piece of wood paper and added a strip of grey card stock to act as a baseboard. I stamped and mounted the sentiment on matching card stock and added the stamped image with foam pop dots. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Beary Good Friends

I have to be honest, winter is not my favourite time of year but it has it's beautiful moments. When the sky is blue, there is snow on the trees and the sun is shining and making the snow sparkle like little diamonds it is breathtaking.

These are the days I love to take my best 4 legged pal for a little longer walk than usual - if it's not too cold - and these days are the inspiration for my card. I used the Winter Wonderland Background and Beary Good Friends to create my winter wonderland scene.

After stamping my stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink I coloured them with Copic markers. I hand fussy cut the friends stamp and added some Star Dust Stickles and white paint for a falling snow effect on the background stamp.

Next, I used a label die to cut out the middle of the background - yes I held my breath while I did this! I cut a dark navy card stock piece to fit my card front (4.5 x 4.5") and layed the frame piece of my background on it to line up the label die and cut it to create the frame.
It took a bit of patience and lining up to add the background piece to the card stock but I added some foam pop dots and set it in place. The next step was to add the"cut" background piece to the base piece of card stock. To finish creating my scene I added the friends stamp in the middle of the frame with foam pop dots. I added the sentiment, glitter dots and matching sparkly ribbon to finish off my card.

Christmas Wishes

I have a few young men in my life who I give Christmas cards to but I always find it a challenge to figure out what stamp or stamps to use on their cards. I think Joey Snowy is absolutely adorable! and perfect for a masculine themed Christmas card. These young men all like and have a dog in their life so I masked the dog out of the "Christmas Treat" stamp to add to the card.

Here's hoping this card works for one of the youngun's in my life and brings a smile.

I stamped both stamps on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I loved the colours of the Winter Magic paper from Echo Park and coloured my stamps to match it.
I cut my card base and rounded the bottom front corners with a corner punch and cut the patterned paper and card stock to match. Next I cut some patterned paper using a rounded corner die to use as a back drop behind the stamps and added some ribbon to "ground" them.
I stamped the sentiment, added it to matching card stock and cut some fish tail banner dies to go behind it. Some enamel dots finish off my card.
