A Quick Update

I wanted to pop in and give you all a quick update and re welcome my newest follower Bridget.

The original welcome post and sadly all of your wonderful comments  had to be taken down because the card I posted that day is out for publishing. I am beyond super excited about that!

I will re-post the card once the publication hits the store shelves.

I will also have some more exciting news to share over the next couple of days :)

Life has thrown me a couple big curve balls lately but I am also watching two of my card making dreams come true - still in shock but I'm going with it lol.

Stay tuned...........

Hope my little guy Moe gives you a smile :) He makes me laugh every day in one way or another with his "puppy" antics.

Have a great day!

Just A Note

Today I am posting a card I made for my sister who has a major household move coming up in the next couple of months from one city to another.

It will be challenging but she tends to see this type of thing as an adventure.

I made this card to send her to let her know I am thinking about her and to wish her the best of luck in her move - her new beginning.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Polly - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment: Simple Labels - Whimsy Stamps
Patterned Paper: K & Co, and my stash
Letter Edge: My Creative Time Dies
Rectangle Die: Nesting Rounded Rectangle Dies - Whimsy Stamps
Photo Corner: Photo Corner Die - Quickutz
Ink: Memento, Versa Colour
Vines: Vines Die - Whimsy Stamps
Flowers: Recollections
Glitter (balls on flower): Hero Arts
Coloured with Spectrum Noir Makers - CT1, CT2, CT4, GB4, TN4, TN7, TN8, EB8, FS2, FS3, FS8, TN2, 1G1, LY1, LY2, LY3, BT1, BT2, BT4, BT6, CG1, CG3, TN3, TN4, TN6

It is hard to get a good photo on a cloudy day, but the turquoise cardstock matches the medium shade of her dress (sleeve).

I am submitting this card to the Whimsy Stamps Challenge #79 - New Beginnings

High Hopes Guest Designer Card

This week, I have the honour of being a guest designer at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. The challenge is Anything High Hopes. For this card I inked up Lenny's Love Me Nots - he makes me smile.

I didn't do a "standard" card layout for this one ( the instructions are in the Spring 2015 issue of Card Maker Magazine).

I had a few challenges with this card - 1. to not reach into my embellishment drawers and 2. to get a good photo!

The piece the actual "picture" is on opens to the right (there is a "natural" photo below) so getting a good picture was a challenge.

For the card itself, I coloured the background (sky & grass) with chalk pencils and then "softened" the colours using a piece of paper towel and doodled the edge around the photo.

I didn't finish the inside of this one yet because I'm not sure what occasion I will use it for - I do feel it could be used for just about anything but since the inside of this card is "finished" there is a photo below of that as well.

Here is a picture with the front closed "flat"..........

The Inside

And the card front as it "naturally" sits
