SpongeBob Birthday - Masculine

As a crafter, I love being able to personalize cards for specific people in my life.

However, I have been challenged with my latest Birthday card need. One of my nephews has a Birthday coming up. He is a young adult, very academic, and loves music....but I have done these themes in the past - so what is a gal to do?!?

Well, a little birdie told me he LOVES Spongebob! Bingo! Oh wait! How do I even begin to do a Spongebob card - past downloading a colour page or . or... thinking cap on........

So the challenge: Young adult male, loves Spongebob, masculine -gulp!

                                 Meet my version of Spongebob........

I started by cutting a piece of yellow sponge - yes, literally a sponge. I have officially lost my mind! I cut and scored some white and brown cardstock for his shirt and pants. I drew a tie on some red cardstock and used a Memento Tuxedo black marker to add an edge to it. I added black squares for his belt and some white cardstock for his shirt. His mouth is cut out of black cardstock and I added a tongue with red cardstock.

I used a piece from a slider die to cut his eyes and added black gumdrops and some eyelashes. A blue marker added some colour to his eyes. Balloons and a Happy Birthday sentiment finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Sponge: Dollar store
Stamps: Celebration Balloons, Bold Happy Birthday - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: You Rock - Close To My Heart
Ink: Not Quite Navy - Stampin' Up
Slider Die - Your Next Stamp (eyes)
Black Gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

I have stepped totally! out of my comfort zone with this one! I hope he likes my version of Spongebob.

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Little One

                                     Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

My post today features and older High Hopes stamp called "Just Bein Nosy" and the sentiment "Welcome Little One". How cute are these two nose to nose meeting each other.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and cutting it out with a stitched rectangle die. I cut a die from Spellbinders and cut it apart to create the "frame" around my stamp. Best Gift EVER and Scrapfest Fun!

I have wanted a colour coach for awhile now. It is a series of cards that give different colour combinations that work together for colouring, cardmaking and scrapbooking. It is made by Stampin' Up and retired so very hard to find.

Sometimes your friends surprise you out of nowhere...
My friend and fellow DT Miss Natalie knew I wanted one and surprised me by making me one.  It is perfect and I was so excited and humbled to receive such an amazing gift.  I will never be able to thank you enough! <3 span="">

Miss Natalie (on the right) and I this past weekend at Scrapfest. She is always full of surprises and super talented. Best gal ever <3 font="">

There is nothing more fun then hanging out with friends at a trade show for the weekend.
This is Cheri (on the left) and I couldn't have made it through the set up and show with out her! She is super talented and we share a similar OCD (don't ask) <3 font="">

The High Hopes Rubber Stamps and One Crazy Stamper team!
Love all these ladies! This is family! <3 font="">
No sleep, too much coffee and a whole lotta crazy - fun times!

Snow Fun!!

I have to be honest, I have alot of things I should be doing but the "fall" feel of the weather this morning was a good excuse for me to have a little play until it warms up.

I wanted to do a card to enter into a challenge for something different and fun, so I grabbed my stamp, markers and supplies and here is what I came up with.

I had some fun colouring Waddles with alcohol markers and cutting him out with the matching die to this set. I added some glitter to his hat and the snow at the back of his tobbogan. Two stitched square dies gave me the perfect tool to make my frame to keep the focus on the stamp. A tree stamped with matching green ink gave me the perfect background for my stitched snow hills. Some sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Waddles - Snow Fun, Load Up (tree) - Your Next Stamp
Dies: Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Squares, Double Stitched Hills - Your Next Stamp
White Sugar and Sparkle Gumdrops - Your Next Stamp
Patterned Paper: Sugarplums - Doodlebug Designs
Ink: Certainly Celery - Stampin' Up!
Quickie Glue Pen, Hero Arts Glitter

Spectrum Noir Markers: CT4 GB5 OR1 PP3 PP5 DR3 BT4 BT6 BT7
