Heard It's Been Ruff

I am having so much fun with the stamps in the new Get Well Soon release!
When I am sick I have the best four legged nurse ever! My dog loves to cuddle with me when I'm sick and he is even more cuddly when he isn't feeling well.
I have numerous friends who's dogs do the same thing for them and some of them, like me suffer from spring colds and allergies.
Sick Puppy is the perfect stamp to make a feel better soon card for one of those friends.

For my card this week I challenged myself to step out of my colour comfort zone. I think we all have our go colours and this week I wanted to show some love to some markers I don't use as often.
I coloured up this cutie with alcohol markers added some shading using Prisma pencils and cut him out using a stitched rectangle die. Paper from Photo Play was perfect for my colour combo and some matching ribbon and shaped sprinkles were the perfect finishing touches. It is hard to see in the photo but I added a bit of sparkle with some silver Wink of Stella to the thermometer just for fun.

Get Well Mouse

I have to let you in on a little secret. When I am sick, I have a go to "magic" blanket. I call it magical because being curled up under it always makes me feel better. It might be the weight of it but truthfully I think it is because my Mom made it for me and put a little extra touch of Mom can make anything better in it ;)
I think this sick little mouse is under her favourite blanket too don't you? I'm sure she will feel better before she knows it!

I coloured this sweetie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut her and added some dots to the quilt with a white gel pen. I grabbed some paper from Carta Bella, Lawn Fawn and MME that I thought would all work together to create my card.
The wood grain paper from MME was perfect to create my head and foot board for her bed and the watercolor paper helps bring the lighter shade of purple into my design. A piece of white cardstock cut with a scallop edge and run through a polka dot embossing folder help create my background. Some ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Under The Weather

I am looking forward to Spring - the sun, blue sky and longer walks with my dog. Spring for me does have a downside though.....
Past the mud my dog brings back in to the house - he's cute, he can be forgiven.. I suffer from allergies so Spring means allergies and spring colds.
Anyone else with me? For me it is sniffles, sneezes and runny eyes.

I can definitely relate to "Sick Bird" from the new Get Well Soon release.
This will be me soon lol!

After colouring this cutie up with alcohol markers I added some shading with Prismacolor pencils not only on the stamp but around the edge of it.  Silver gel pen was perfect for the umbrella handle. I cut him out using an oval die and set him aside. Next I chose some fun, bright paper from Lawn Fawn and cut it to size. I went around all my edges lightly with blue ink to give my edges some definition. I stamped the sentiment and went around the edge of it as well. Some ribbon and stitched clouds finish off my card.

Take Two

Welcome to the "Get Well Soon" new release from High Hopes Rubber Stamps!
This release is full of fun, cute animals that are geared towards making fun get well cards sure to make anyone smile and feel better!
I am honoured to share "Take A Tissue" with you. Our poor gopher friend sure seems to be feeling under the weather! He looks like he needs to just crawl in to bed or curl up under his favourite blanket!

I coloured this adorable gopher with alcohol markers and cut him out using a stitched rectangle die. Next I cut my base and then cut the front piece in half for a different fun layout. I wanted our poor sick friend here to be peeking over the top. I added some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and inked all of the edges with distress ink. Two sentiments from the new release were perfect for this card layout.
Some flowers and ribbon finish off my card.

Laid Up

Poor Cole seems to be in quite the predicament! If Cole lives where I do, then this injury may have happened by slipping on ice, or tobogganing!
I have used this adorable "Cole's Laid Up" stamp to make a Get Well card for my stash.

After colouring the adorable Cole with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a fun die from Gina Marie Designs. I set it aside and chose some patterned paper from Carta Bella. I cut my pieces to fit my finished 51/2 x 5/12 card base and cut a stitched tag to put my image on. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Dear Spring.....

I admit it, I'm winter weary and I have been thinking about Spring a lot!
This week I decided to have some fun with my thoughts of Spring and make a card for Spring. Weird right?! but maybe if Spring knows how much it is loved it will think about coming a little earlier then usual....

"Sitting Bee" and some fun spring coloured paper were perfect for my "thinking of you" card for Spring.

I coloured this cutie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge around the antennas. They were tough to cut and things went a little awry with the paper/scissor/knife combo I was using......sigh.........
Next I cut a piece of white card stock to size and cut a honey comb pattern die. I taped it on the cardstock using painters tape and used it as a stencil for my background. After I was done inking my background I added the sentiment using my Misit for perfect placement.

All of the paper is lightly edged with antique linen Distress ink.

Instead of throwing out my now blue honey comb pattern I decided it would be a perfect embellishment for this card along with some enamel dots and a pop of ribbon. I hope Spring likes her card and decides to come early!

Stamp: Sitting Bee - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: One Of Those Days - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
