Home For Christmas

Welcome back High Hopes fans!

My post for this week is one more Christmas in July card featuring "Festive Wreath".
I love driving around and looking at Christmas decorations. This wreath had a country feel to me so I pictured it on a fence.
Where I live, it is very common for people to hang wreaths on the cedar rail fence they have near their homes.
It is also common to see a tractor out in the middle of a field covered in Christmas lights...... but I personally love the wreaths.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and hand fussy cutting it with manicure scissors. I added some Stickles to the beads and clear Spectrum Sparkle pen to the bow.
Some glittery snow on the fence and in the blue sky behind add just the right amount of bling.
I added a silver brad to the fence so it looked like the nail head used to hand the wreath.
Some sparkly Stickles in the hearts with the sentiment help tie everything together.

Purrfect Day

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

Have you had a chance to see all of the cuteness in this release!?! I honestly can't pick a favourite!!
This week my card features "Curious Kitty, Cat and Dog Paw Paws and the Purrfect Day" sentiment from the new So Much Cuteness release.

I used to have a cat and he was curious but also loved to bat at my hand when I was eating strawberry banana yogurt or popcorn - his two favourite things in the world.

This curious kitty is making friends with a sweet little butterfly!

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and cutting it out with a label die and popping it up using some foam pop dots.
After choosing some bright fun paper from Doodlebug and water colour wash paper from MFT.
I stamped cat paws (link below) on the water colour paper and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder . It is hard to see in the picture but I also added clear sparkle pen to the butterfly - love me some sparkle!
Some twine and matte sprinkles finish off my card.
The finished card size is A2 ( 4.25"w x 5.50"h)- love that these stamps are the perfect size for this size of card!

Life Without Dogs

Happy Wednesday One Crazy Stamper Fans!

This week I would like to introduce you to Puppy Pals from the So Much Cuteness new release from High Hopes. How adorable are these two!!

I decided to showcase these two cuties in a paw print base - the "toes" are a lot bigger then I wanted them to be but this is the smallest circle die I have and my circle cutter doesn't cut smaller then an inch ... so mental note - buy a circle cutter that cuts smaller then 1 inch I hope you can still see my vision.

I also can't see myself with a dog in my life so this stamp and sentiment are perfect for me!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a classic circle die. I cut the background cardstock with my circle cutter. The paw "pad" is popped up with foam dots to help it stand out. The "toes" to my paw print were cut out and I added a heart to each one.
A grey Staedler marker was perfect to add some freckles to the puppy just for fun.
All of this was added to some plaid and heart paper. Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.
The images in this new release are perfect for A2 size cards - a size I haven't made in a very long time - so fun to do!!!!

Stamping Road Trip

Every once and awhile as time and creativity permits, I try to participate in a challenge.

I have had this stamp from Art Impressions sitting in my "to do" box for a couple of weeks now so I decided to see what the current challenge is on the Art Impressions blog.

Art Impressions Challenge #212 is Bling, Glitter or Glossy. For me, this was the perfect challenge to finally ink up this stamp!

I LOVE going on shopping sprees or to a craft show with my crafty girlfriends - there is nothing I enjoy more and we always have way too much fun!!!! Is there such a thing as too much fun?!?

After colouring my stamps with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut my images and ran a black marker around the edge to clean up any white I had left behind. I cut my licence plate background out - perfect for a road trip card I thought, and added a few clouds.

Gold and silver Wink of Stella on their earrings, sparkly silver gel pen on the cars bumpers and door handles, glossy accents on the stop light and some sparkly gumdrops gave me lots of opportunities to meet this challenge.

I used two more sentiments from this set and added them to a background piece of white cardstock that had been run through an fun embossing folder. I purposely left some white space at the bottom so I could put the sentiment on some flat paper. I popped the main image up using foam pop dots to add a bit more fun to my card.

Polar Bear Christmas

It's time for a new challenge at Whimsy Stamps! The challenge is Anything Goes with an optional twist of "Holiday".

I chose to play along with the twist and made a Christmas card. It's never too early to start right?! I always have good intentions to get my Christmas cards done early but somehow I have yet to accomplish that. So......Christmas in July it is!

Meet "Sheltering Love" digital stamp designed by the talented Crissy Armstrong.

After printing my stamp and colouring it with alcohol markers, it is cut out using the hand stitched nested rectangles die. The patterned paper is a mix of digital papers from the Purple Winter and Lilac Woods collections designed by Tracy Wray. They have been cut out using the hand stitched nested rectangles die and a fish tail banner die.
I love to add a little bit of bling to my cards - okay in this case alotta bling so I used some sparkly Stickles to add some fun snowflakes to the image background.  Some clear acrylic snowflakes, sparkly enamel dots and some sparkly ribbon finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Sheltering Love - Whimsy Digital Stamps

Goat Your Back

Welcome to the "So Much Cuteness" new release High Hopes fans!!!

I had to chuckle as I was colouring this image and putting my card together.
This kid sure seems to be telling quite the story to her parent and sibling.... or is she tattling on her sibling.....I guess we will never know.........

It is my pleasure to introduce you to "Goat Your Back" and the "And Then" sentiment from this new release.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and cutting it out with a stitched oval die. I cut a second oval out of cardstock to put behind the image. It is actually the same size I used to cut out the stamp, so I cut it in half and used it on the edges only just for something different and fun.
The sentiment was stamped using my Misti and mounted on matching cardstock.
All of this cuteness is added to patterned paper from Carta Bella. Some fun decorative corners, a matching stitched border, sparkly gumdrops and a cotton last bow finish off my card.

Stamps: Goat Your Back - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Rise & Shine!

Welcome to the High Hopes Rubber Stamps " So Much Cuteness" new release!

What better way to spend a Saturday then taking a look at the 17 new stamps and 16 new sentiments in this release.

I have the honour of introducing you to "Oh Bull" and the "Rise & Shine" sentiment. My experiences on the farm growing up taught me to stay away from the bull in the herd at all costs......but if the bull was this cute, I'm not sure I would have heeded the warnings...........I don't know why but this guy just cracks me up and he is totally adorable to boot!!!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a stitched square die. I chose some paper from Bo Bunny that looked like a sunrise which I thought was fitting with the sentiment.

My dad in paticular used to love the say "Rise and Shine" to me when I was a kid so this sentiment makes me smile! The sentiment is stamped directly on my patterned paper using my Misti....love my Misti!!!

Some more patterned paper from Doodlebug and Lawn Fawn, and some twine and gumdrops to finish off my card.

Stamps: Oh Bull - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Rise & Shine - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Snow Angels

Welcome back High Hopes Fans! This week I am continuing with my Christmas in July theme with a fun image called "Snow Angels".

I have to admit that it is a challenge to think about cold, snow and winter when we are finally getting some hot summer weather. For those of us who live in an area that gets snow, making snow angels was a really fun thing to do and something I think everyone did at least once in their life.

This stamp sure brings back some fun childhood memories!

My snow angels were stamped, coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a stitched rectangle die. I added some sparkly stickles to our angels' outfits and to the larger snow drops in the background.
I matched the colours to patterned paper from MME and added some snowflakes with an embossing folder although they are just peeking out . I added a few fishtail tags just for fun - this is a great way to use up the small pieces left behind after cutting a piece of paper.
The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a fish tail banner die and some sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Howdy

This week I am getting in touch with my country side. I grew up in town but I had a number of friends and an aunt and uncle who had farms that I spent my summer vacations going to.

I learned how to milk cows, pick stones in the fields and clean out pig pens and much more!We worked hard ..... and yes we had some fun too! Honestly I'm a farm girl at heart.

"Clarebelle & Riley" bring back some very fun memories for me!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a stitched square die. The sentiment is part of a larger sentiment but I thought it fit this stamps perfectly.
I really wanted to find a way to combine patterned paper that in my mind have kind of a country feel to them - gingham, burlap, denim and barn board. I was able to combine paper from two different companies and my stash to achieve my country feel.
Some matching blue gumdrops finish off my card.

Candy Cane Wishes

I always have the best intentions - to start my Christmas cards early so I'm not rushing to get them done. I like to personalize my cards as much as possible by using images that match the receivers personality or hobby. I have a number of them that need to be sent out West so leaving things to the last minute makes it stressful.

However, since I'm being honest here.........I always have good intentions but I am also Always! rushing to get my cards done for Christmas.....maybe this year will be different?

This week my card features "Niki Sweet Tooth" and the "Candy Cane and Mistletoe" sentiment..made for one of the "sweets" lovers on my list of course.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and cutting it out with a classic circle die. I used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut the cardstock circle to back it with. I chose my patterned paper from Echo Park and added a fun white and silver ribbon and bell to match the little bells on his shoes.
Some red berry sparkle pen was added to the candy cane for some bling - this girl loves a touch of bling especially on Christmas cards.
Icicle Stickles were added to the hat tassle and some silver glittery gumdrops finish off my card.

Get Well Soon!

This month the One Crazy Stamper design team will be using a variety of High Hopes Rubber Stamps to go along with our Anything Goes Challenge theme.

I was going through my card stash and realized I don't have very many Get Well Soon cards. It is always when we are least expecting it that we need this type of card so I decided to use super cute "Valerie Nurse Angel" to create a card for just this reason.

This 4x4 size card will go perfectly with a get well gift and was inspired by a crafty friend of mine who's name starts with "C".

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut fussy it out using my trusty manicure scissors. Now, I have noticed that some nurses are wearing print scrub tops to work so I decided to paper piece Valerie's nurse coat to add some fun. I also added sparkle to her wings using a clear sparkle pen.

The sentiment was stamped in three separate words (it comes as on long sentiment) to a piece of patterned paper and added to a die cut clip board - a nurse would have a clip board to record things so I thought it fit perfectly with this image.
I cut some matching card stock and ran it through a heart embossing folder to add some texture.
And since she is repairing a bear who has come un-stitched I hand stitched some stitches on the card with embroidery floss to finish off my card.

Stamps: Valerie Nurse Angel- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Tail Not Waggin/Get Well Soon - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Cream and Sugar - Doodlebug
Tuxedo Black ink - MementoMisti, Swiss Hearts Embossing folder - Taylored Expressions, Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, silver gel pen, Little Notes Die set - YNS, Fishtail Banner dies - YNS

Fun With Thelwell

I have an extra day off work because of Canada Day. It is a beautiful sunny day and there is lots to be done outside........but I am having a day in my craft room creating cards "just for fun".

I love the Thelwell images of kids and their ponies. These digital stamps have been in my "to play with pile" for awhile now and I have chosen today to play with them. Sometimes a gal just needs to do some crafting "for fun" and take some me time right?!?

Meet "Thelwell All Rounder" and "Thelwell Hug"!

                                                      All Rounder

Supplies: Thelwell All Rounder Digital Stamp - Crafter's Companion, Sentiment: computer, Patterned Paper: Come Away With Me - MME, stilver gel pen, stitched oval & rectangle dies - YNS, twine - stash, brads - stash, wooden horse shoe - Southern Ridge Trading Co. Spectrum Noir makers: FS5 FS2 TN2 TN1 EB1 EB2 TN7 TN8 EB8 CT1 CT2 BG5 BG7 DG2 Copic: B00 B01 BGO1

Hug

Supplies: Thelwell Hug Digital Stamp - Crafter's Companion, Sentiment: Mini Everyday Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps, Patterned Paper: This & That - Echo Park, Baker's Twine, silver gel pen, Love Earth Gumdrops - YNS, Spectrum Noir Markers: FS5 FS2 TN2 IG2 TN3 TN5 TN6 CG4 DG3 JG6 CT1 CT2 TN4 TN7 TN8 DG2

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a horse lover through and through. I love to ride a big draft (work horse) type horse - the bigger the better for me!

I chose to make two note style cards - the Hugs card is a 4"x4" and the All Rounder is a standard A2 size card. Both were so much fun to make and are a perfect addition to my stash to give to a horsey friend.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards! Have a fantastic day!
