Surf Star!

I don't know if you've noticed but Bob sure is one super talented dude! Today we find him doing a photo shoot - he is a surfing star! We would expect nothing less from Bob at this point - he seems to do it all!

My post today features Bob's A Surfer Dude (T519) and a sentiment from Sentiment Set #4 (U507).

I coloured Bob with alcohol markers (list below)and fussy cut him and popped him up with pop dots. He put on his favourite pair of flowered shorts (paper pieced) for this photo shoot. I fussy cut the camera from some patterned paper and added the sentiment after stamping it and cutting it out with a circle die. I didn't have a film strip die so I got out my square dies and the hole punch from my Making Memories tool kit and voila. A polaroid die with some sky patterned paper and inked the edges. Glitter gold enamel dots finished off my card.

Born To Ride

When I think motorcycle riders, I think black leather for safety - the coat riders usually wear. I had another plan for this card to be honest but it didn't come together. Honestly, I like the finished card better then what was in my head. Sometimes I like happy accidents.

Bob LOVES his motorcycle so I think he would have shiny chrome, a special set of keys and his own personalized licence plate don't you?

I coloured Bob with alcohol markers (list below)and fussy cut him with manicure scissors. It is hard to see in the photo but the "silver" or "chrome" is coloured with a silver gel pen.  I die cut the licence plate, stamped my sentiment, added Bob and popped it up with some pop dots. His key ring is made up of a "ring" I had in my stash, a key and a motorcycle charm. I added a few black crystals to finish my card off.

Gabriel Loves Tubing - With A Twist

I challenged myself at the beginning of this year to try new things with my card making.
Shaker cards have always fascinated me so I thought I would give it a try on this card - or a portion of it anyway.

Should I have tried a shaker card with such a small area for my first one - probably not - will I do another shaker card in my future - absolutely!

After colouring Gabriel with alcohol markers (list below) I coloured him again to make the shaker portion of my card. This is the first time I have tried doing a shaker card. I learned a thing or two and I will do another one - a bigger one!
The tape I used has "glue" on the edges as well so the sequins stick to it but when you're using double sided tape - once it's down, it's down! Lesson learned :) but I had fun doing it! After fussy cutting the image, I made the shaker portion of the card and popped it up with pop dots.
Some twine, brads, a star fish charm and some black doodling finish off my card.

Floating By

My son's girlfriend's birthday was last week but we are celebrating this weekend.

She LOVES penguins so I knew right away my Waddles stamps would come out.

I stamped Waddles with Memento Tuxedo black ink. This stamp only has one balloon with it so I masked it off and re-stamped the balloons. I wanted Waddles to look like he was floating in the sky so he needed more then one balloon. The cloud paper behind will hopefully give the "floating" look as well. The stamp is  coloured with alcohol markers (list below) and then fussy cut. I added some pop dots and put him on the card. It's hard to see if the picture but I added Wink of Stella to the tassles on the hat - gotta have a bit of bling somewhere right?!

I am entering this card July Challenge - Anything Goes at One Crazy Stamper
as well as  Sketch and Colour Challenge #18 at Your Next Stamp. I chose to use the sketch for this challenge.

Happy In A Sandtrap?!

Bob loves golf and I think he is the only one who would look this happy in a sand trap!

I don't golf but for many who do, finding themselves in a sand trap once and awhile is a reality - or so I'm told

A close up of the sand

The first time I tried adding sand to my card, I did it on the white background and I didn't like the look. I was up to my eyeballs in white glue and sand - although I did feel like I was at the beach for awhile!
So, I coloured the area with an alcohol marker that matched the sand and then applied my glue and sand - I am much happier with this!
I used the negative space of a chunky grass die to create my grass edge and outlined with a .01 Zig marker.
I added some Wink of Stella to his glasses although it is hard to see.
I coloured Bob with alcohol markers (list below) and paper pieced his pants and hat. The sky is coloured with a light blue chalk pencil and I added cotton balls for some whispy clouds. I finished the card off with some eyelets from my stash and some hemp cord and popped the "scene" up with pop dots.

Christmas Pony

It is VERY hot and humid in Southern Ontario today - a perfect day to be in my cool happy place.

I have had this image coloured for a little while but didn't quite have the right paper to put it all together. A score at a garage sale I went to yesterday fixed that problem.

I am entering this card into Challenge 84 - Use Ribbon, Lace or Twine at Whimsy Stamps.

2015 Christmas Card #2 done. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh Deer - Christmas in July

I have finally had some time in my craft room after a busy couple of weekends with my brother getting married.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the ShowCASe Your Style challenge blog.

Christmas in July is a great theme so I decided to go with it for this card. The bonus is ....... I can say I have my first Christmas card done! Yay me!

I created my background by running the cardstock through my Big Kick in the Snowflake Swirl embossing folder - after I stamped the trees and deer. I also decided to use the indented side of the embossed paper instead of the "puffy" side to add a different texture to my card. I stamped and fussy cut two more deer and popped one of them up with a pop dot. A few crystals finished off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Scandi Christmas - Clearly Whimsy stamps
Ink: Dusk Blue - Martha Stewart, London Fog - Memento
Snowflake Swirls - Darice embossing folder
Cardstock - Recollections
Pop Dot: 3D Foam - Scrapbook Adhesives
Crystals: Crystazzi Crystals

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

The Perfect Wave

I hope you all enjoyed a Happy Canada Day! I can't believe it's July already!!

My post today features Gabriel Loves Surfing and a sentiment from the All About Boys new release at High Hopes Stamps.

This is a side view so you can see the action wobbler spring.

I coloured the sunset using alcohol markers and added some wave patterned paper. Gabriel is fussy cut and mounted on an action wobbler spring I bought at One Crazy Stamper so he moves and wiggles when the card is moved - so fun! I added an octopus clothespin to help hold my sentiment and added a pop dot to hold it up. A few YNS gumdrops finished off my card.

Card Recipe
Patterned Paper: Go Jump in a Lake, Campout - Bella Boulevard
Jack & Jill - Boy - Echo Park
Action Wobbler Spring
Ink: Almost Navy - Stampin' Up
Felt Clothespin - Michaels
Pop Dot - Forever In Time
Enamel Dots - White Gumdrops - Your Next Stamp
