Easter Blooms

I am creating this blog post on Sunday during our second snowstorm this week. We have gotten so much snow there is no where left to put it. So, what's a gal to do? Go in to her craft room and think Spring and Easter.

I love the "Bunny Blooms" stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was fun to bring out some spring Copic colours to colour with and to get my first Easter card for this year done.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I set it aside and found some patterned papers from my stash, Lemon Craft and Honey Bee that all worked together. I cut the paper to fit my design and added some matching gingham ribbon before gluing the pieced down. I added the stamped image to the circle and glued it down. A stamped sentiment on matching card stock and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp - Bunny Blooms (T063) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Script Easter Greetings (F093)
Patterned Paper - House of Roses - Lemon Craft, Gingham Galore - Honey Bee, stash

Hammermill digital cover stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, circle die, ribbon, enamel dots

Tulips - Y11 Y8 Y18 V20 YG01 YG02 YG17 YG67

Happy Easter

Easter is just around the corner but I had to sneak in an extra card when I saw the "Carrot Patch" stamp in the "Spring Fever" re-release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

While I was colouring the stamp, I had lots of memories come flooding back of Easter preparations as a child. My brothers and I got to dye eggs and often had contests - like most colourful, most funky, most silly etc. We always had a lot of fun and our fingers were just as colourful as the eggs when we were done. After that, we had to find our favourite hat and leave it on the table so the "Easter Bunny" knew where to put our treats and then he would hide them for us to find the next morning. So many fun memories......all coming back from colouring a stamp.. <smile>

After stamping this cutie on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured him with Copic markers and hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge. I wasn't planning on fussy cutting this one but it went better with my design to fussy cut it so I did. I combined patterned paper from Recollections and Craft Consortium to create the design and added them to the 5"x 5" card base.

Next I used a die to cut a grass strip, tulips and a fence to help add a spring feel to the card. All of the paper edges are inked with antique linen distress ink to help them stand out. I stamped and cut the sentiment and added some enamel dots to finish off the card.

Happy Easter!

We have been enjoying some sun where I live and although there is still a lot of snow on the ground and it is still pretty cold it makes me itch for spring. Not just for the sun and melting snow but for spring flowers and Easter.

I always seem to forget to give my Easter cards away but this year I am going to try to remember to. We may not be able to get together for Easter again so I am making cards to be able to send out to family. Three Pane Easter from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is perfect for Easter and Spring cards. These cute babies just make me smile and I hope they will make the person I send this card to smile too.

After stamping these cuties with tuxedo black Memento ink, I coloured them with Copic alcohol markers and cut them out using my paper trimmer. After setting them aside I found some paper from Echo Park to create my patterned paper layers. I used a polaroid die to add some interest behind them and cut them out in matching card stock.
After stamping the sentiment I cut it out using a banner die and trimmed the ends. I mounted it on card stock and slid it under the stamped image. Next I inked all of the layers with antique linen distress ink to help them stand out and added a gingham bow and enamel dots to finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Three Pane Easter - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: Happy Easter! - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Dots and Stripes, Spring - Echo Park

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, ribbon, Antique Linen Distress ink, enamel dots

Easter Greetings

Am I the only one who can't believe it is March already!??? That means spring is just around the corner and that all the snow we have will melt. We have had some beautiful, sunny spring like weather lately and it has been amazing to take a walk in the warm sun.

Spring also means Easter is just around the corner so today I am adding to my Easter card stash using "A Tulip For You" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. This stamp works for Easter but would also work for spring, Valentine's or an anniversary card. So many possibilities and I love when I can use a stamp for more than one occasion!

I chose to go clean and simple (CAS) with my card design for this adorable stamp. After stamping it, I coloured it with Copic markers and set it aside. Patterned paper from Your Next Stamp with some adorable little hearts was perfect for this pair and I cut it and the card stock to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base.

Next I laid my border edge die onto the stamped image paper to decide where I wanted to cut my border. I placed the sentiment into the space where I wanted to stamp it and then cut my border edge. After placing it on my card base decided how much had to be trimmed off the top to fit leaving a little patterned paper and card stock showing. Then I cut a piece of card stock to the correct width and cut the border edge. I placed the stamped image on to my Misti, placed the sentiment and stamped it directly on to the paper.

To finish my card, I edged all of the paper with antique linen distress ink and added some twine and color added clear enamel dots.

Card Recipe

Stamp: A Tulip For You - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: Script Easter Greeting - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Hugs and Kisses - Your Next Stamp

Happy Easter High Hopes Fans!
Today I am hopping in with "Chopper's Easter Gift" and boy does he make me smile. Truthfully I was giggling the whole time I coloured him! Who knew that the Easter Bunny needed a helper?! and such an adorable one at that!
Chopper sure stepped up this year and is hopping off to spread love, smiles and chocolate to all who will accept it. I hope he has my address!!

I coloured Chopper up with alcohol markers and then hand fussy cut him leaving a thing white edge. I set him aside and grabbed a grass tuft die, cardstock and a puffy cloud border and started cutting pieces to help create my scene.
I used a wavy slider die because I wanted Chopper to look like he was hopping when he is moved across the card front - he does have springs on his feet after all - smile. I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on some matching card stock. Ribbon and matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Easter Bunny Greetings

Easter is just around the corner so I'm hopping in with this adorable "Bunny Stack" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
I don't often get my Easter cards sent or given out - I always forget to take them!, but I think this year may be the year that happens.
These guys just make me smile and I would love to see the smile that this cute stack of bunnies I hope would bring to someone else.

After colouring these cuties with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them out leaving a thin white edge. I found some patterned paper from Stampin' Up for my background and added some matching card stock which I ran through an embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a fishtail banner die. Some matching ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Spring is here......sort of. We had snow again this weekend but that is pretty normal where I live. The week had been beautiful, sunny and cool so my thoughts have been turning to spring and with spring comes Easter!

The Easter bunny will be here soon enough and this cutie is only one of a few adorable bunnies High Hopes has that are perfect for Easter cards! This cutie has a gift....I wonder if it is a chocolate peanut butter egg?!

How cute are the "Peeking Spring Buddies" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps! They are perfect a happy Spring hello card too - so many ideas bouncing around in my brain for these cuties!

After colouring up these happy friends with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge and popped them up with foam dots. I cut my background square and did a partial cut with a circle die. Next I grabbed some ink and a cloud die and added the cloud background. Some bright, fun plaid paper was perfect to bring these friends to life! Some matching ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Happy Easter...

It is hard to believe that Easter is just around the corner and will be here before we know it! For us, Easter weekend is the last weekend of this month (March) - Yikes!!!
This has made me put my Easter card making in to overdrive! Thankfully, High Hopes Rubber Stamps has an amazing assortment of Easter stamps available!

This card is made using Sm. Easter Bunny, "Sm." because this cutie is also available in a larger size - either way, perfect for Easter don't you think?

I actually coloured this stamp at a crop at One Crazy Stamper. I had taken a very large selection of patterned paper with me, but when I was trying to choose a paper none of them were really working for me. So what is a gal to do? Why, go see what is available and buy new paper or course! Love the colours in this 6x6 pad from Echo Park!( the plaid is from this pad)

Finally after choosing my paper, I set about colouring this cutie with alcohol makers and fussy cutting it leaving a thin white edge to help it stand out. I cut a stitched tag out of some matching patterned paper and added a fun scallop border and a bow. After stamping my sentiment I added it to my card with matching patterned paper, more scallops and added some fish tail banner tags just for fun - although this is a great way to use up the small pieces of paper left from trimming. Matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Sm. Easter Bunny - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Happy Easter - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Hello Easter - Echo Park, It's A Boy - Carta Bella, Dots and Stripes - Echo Park
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Fun Stitched Edges - My Creative Time Dies, Stitched Tag - Whimsy Stamps, Fishtail Banner dies - Your Next Stamp, ribbon - stash, Enamel Dots - Carta Bella

Bunny Blossoms Easter

Hello OCS Fans! Can you believe it is April 1st already!?! I know I can't but it's is a fun time because a new month means a new release called "Think Spring" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and a new challenge!

My challenge inspiration card features "Bunny Blossoms" and the "Happy Easter" sentiment from this new release. I just adore this bunny - so cute!!!

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers then cut it out using a stitched square die. My card layout is based on the new sketch to go along with this month's challenge. I have included the sketch below.

The patterned paper I chose is from Bo Bunny and I added a paper doily from my stash in the corner. It is hard to see in the picture but I added some Stickles to the hearts in the banner and the little dots around the flowers - I like my "bling".  It is hard to see in the photo but I used a chalk pencil to add a few light blue clouds just for fun. A button, banner and some twine finish off my card.

Stamps: Bunny Blossoms (TT114) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Happy Easter (GG019) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Egg-stra Special

Welcome back High Hopes Fans!

I had some fun playing with a High Hopes Easter stamp this week. How cute are these two?!

When we were kids we used to put dye and water into a mug and let the egg sit until it was coloured. There was a special wire handle that came in the kit to put the egg in and out of the mug and fun stickers to decorate the eggs with.

Of course, while we were waiting for the dye we would make a huge mess with everything we weren't using . I had to use the fun paint splatter paper on this one! This stamp sure brought back some fun memories!

After the stamp was coloured with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a classic circle die and then cut a scalloped die to go in behind it. The patterned paper pieces were cut to the size I wanted and placed on the card. Antique linen distress ink was put on all of the edges. Some fishtail banner tags were added along with some gumdrops and ribbon to finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Easter Fun (Q023 - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Egg-stra Special (G243) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

He Lives!

We are having some fun this month on the High Hopes blog. Okay we have fun all the time but it is an Anything Goes month so we get to play with any stamp we want.

Easter is coming and will be here before we know it! My card this week features "He Lives" and the "He Is Risen" sentiment.

Inside

I'm not sure why but this image screamed CAS layout to me. I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. I cut matching purple cardstock and another piece of white cardstock - this piece was run through a polka dot embossing folder to give some texture.

The inside is the same colours of cardstock cut with a stitched rectangle die and then the sentiment was stamped. A flower and some twine finish off my card.

Stamps: He Lives (R057 - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: He Is Risen (H137)
