Happy New Year

Happy New Year High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper fans! I can't believe this year is coming to a close in just a few days!
My final post for this year features "Party Penguin" from the Winter Joy release.

How fun is this little guy going to his New Year's party with his balloons and favourite snack!! He would be perfect for a winter birthday card too!

The card layout I chose for this stamp is a little more simple then I usually do - it was soo fun to do a more CAS style card!
This cutie is coloured with alcohol markers, hand fussy cut leaving a bit of a white edge and popped him up with pop dots. The balloons and candy have clear sparkle marker on them and are very sparkly! Once I was done with my image, I cut my patterned paper pieces to size and stamped my sentiment. I stamped some fun party confetti on my background paper and added a few sequins for some extra sparkle.

Holiday Cheer All Year

It is only 4 days until Christmas but I had to make one last Christmas card to share with you.
I made this card with all of you in mind, our High Hopes Fans, my fellow design team members and blog followers.

My wish for all of you is health, happiness and holiday cheer to last all year. I'm looking forward to another year of fun and sharing cards and projects. Merry Christmas to you!

I coloured my card with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it. I love some bling and glitter on my Christmas cards so I added some glittery snow and Nuvo glitter drops to the "yard", house and sky. I cut out a fun frame totally by accident to be honest but that is a story for another day and added it behind my image. The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a fish tail banner die. Some matching ribbon and my favourite - gumdrops - finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Gingerbread House In Heart - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

We Made You A Present

I had some fun making this Christmas card for our new neighbours. They have two bulldogs, two adorable children and an amazing sense of humor. Truthfully, I believe this is how one of their dogs may react to reindeer antlers on their heads - the other one would enjoy it!

I couldn't stop giggling colouring these two to match my neighbours "Daisy and Leo". I love being able to make a card that is personalized to the person or people receiving it.

After colouring my "grumpy" dogs with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them out. I added some sparkle pen to the strings that tie the reindeer antlers on. I built my background with some ink blending, white acrylic paint, cardstock snowdrifts and a die cut fence. After stamping and making a slight tweak to the sentiments I cut them out with a fish tail banner die. A wood dog bone, twine and some gumdrops finish off my card.

Stamp: Grumpy Holidays - Whimsy Stamps

Yule Log Christmas

It's only 10 days until the big day! and I am feverishly still trying to get some Christmas cards done! The Christmas Wish Sentiments set created by the oh so talented Tracy Wray was perfect to help me get another card done and include in this month's Anything Goes challenge at Whimsy Stamps.

How cute is this little bird with his Santa hat and a branch of good cheer! My brother in law loves the outdoors so I think this card is perfect for him!

I printed my stamp to the size I wanted (gotta love digi stamps!) and coloured it with alcohol markers. My hand stitched nested rectangle dies were the perfect size to cut this cutie out and a sentiment from the Christmas Time Sentiment set fit perfectly! Some fun coloured snow, ribbon, snowflakes, branch dies and gumdrops finish off my card.

Snowflake Gift

I love snowmen! so when I saw the Snowman Flakes 4 U stamp in the new Winter Joy release I knew I wanted to make a card with him. I also fell in love with the colours of this paper and the result is a fun, winter themed card for a friend.

I coloured my stamp using alcohol markers and cut it out with a new to me die with scallops and stitches. It is hard to see in the photo but the "gift" snowflakes are coloured with a Spectrum Sparkle pen - fun right?! After colouring the trees, I cut a piece of sponge and used it add some white acrylic paint to add some "snow". Ribbon, some Nuvo drops and a fun silver snowflake charm are the finishing touches. Now...I wonder which of my friends would like to find this in their mailbox........

Ice Skating Oops!

A couple weeks ago I attend my first ever weekend retreat with One Crazy Stamper. I had way too much fun, lots of laughs and well......you know ..what happens at the retreat, stays at the retreat!

Our welcome package included some 12 x 12 paper, ribbon, chipboard and a sketch and a challenge should we choose to accept it. Create a card or layout with the patterned paper in the kit but we could make it our own.

I decided Oops Oliver was the perfect stamp to match the paper in pack. I added a fun sentiment I had taken with me. I coloured him up, added silver gel pen to his skate blades and cut him out with a stitched oval die. Some silver ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.
I didn't win the challenge - so many talented ladies played along - but I had way too much fun making this card!

Cowgirl Smile

Today I had a chance to take a break from making Christmas cards to colour up this oh so sweet digital stamp from Digi Doodles Studio for their Anything Goes Challenge.

Anyone who knows me knows I love horses so this is one of those "perfect for me" stamps. It reminds me of my horse and I - he didn't necessarily like hugs in the beginning but he came to like them and even hugged me back a couple of times.

After colouring this sweet stamp with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I popped it up with pop dots because I really wanted it to be the focus of the card. I mixed and matched some patterned paper and cut out a matching banner die and heart. Some cotton lace ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Stamp: Cowgirl Up - Digi Doodle Studio

Ride A Reindeer

I love making Christmas cards for my horse back riding friends. I love to colour horse themed cards but I also keep my eye out for something different every year too!
Rita and the Reindeer by Stampingbella fit the bill this year. How cute are these two!?! and who wouldn't want to ride a reindeer - especially one as cute as this!

After colouring Rita and her reindeer with alcohol markers, I cut her and her reindeer out using the matching die. I added some Nuvo glitter drops to her ha t and the reindeer's scarft. It is hard to see but the star has clear Spectrum Sparkle pen on it for some bling too! I popped the image up using foam pop dots.
Some patterned paper from Carta Bella was perfect for this stamp. The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a stitched circle die. I added some Nuvo glitter drops to the stars here too.
Some ribbon, matching red bells and enamel dots finish off my card.

No Peeking!

It's Day 2 of the new digital release at Whimsy Stamps! I had some fun with the new Christmas Wish Sentiments - this set has both images and sentiments!

I don't know about anyone else, but as a child I and my brothers of course, needed to be reminded we were not allowed to peek at our presents under the tree let alone pick them up and shake them - yikes!

I think this cute little reindeer just got caught don't you??

After printing my stamp and colouring him with alcohol markers I cut him out using a circle die and then used my circle cutter to cut a cardstock backing for it. I added this to digital paper from Whimsy (link below) and added some Stickles to the present bows and sparkly gumdrops for ornaments.
I printed and die cut the sentiment and added a matching paper clip and bow.

Holy Night

It is December 1st already! Yikes! That means a new challenge and it means I can go in to panic mode about not having enough Christmas cards done yet!!!

This month our challenge theme is Winter/Christmas - fun right? And it means I could get another Christmas card done and checked off my list - phew!

I coloured up sweet Mary with alcohol markers and cut her out using a stitched tag die. The nativity scene was cut out of some patterned paper in the Echo Park pad I was using. Matching tags cut out with a fish tail banner die, sparkly ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.
