Craft Store Road Trip

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I don't know about you but March sure has flown by! I can't believe our month of Anything Goes is almost over - I've had way too much fun playing with these stamps this month.

For my last post of March I would like to introduce you to a fun stamp called "Off To The Craft Store". I made a slider card so she slides back and forth on the card.
This stamp is so fun! My son's girlfriend has a "Bug" so guess what stamp I will use for her Birthday card this year but it could also be used for travel, someone getting their licence, buying their first car and so much more!

After the stamp was coloured with alcohol markers, I fussy cut it using manicure scissors. I added Silver Wink of Stella to the wheel spokes, bumpers and door handle and some Glossy Accents to the windshield. The background scene was created with a cloud embossing folder and a cute home on a hill die. I used a slider die to create the space for her to slide back and forth on the card.

I wanted to keep my paper and layout simple to keep the focus on this fun image. The sentiment was created on my computer and some of my fav gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Umbrella Smile

I can't believe it's the last Wednesday in March already!

I have one more Anything Goes post to share with you. My card features a fun stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps called Raindrops Ribbit and I paired him up with the Rainy Rainy Day sentiment.

I think he is adorable and would bring a smile to anyone's face

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I cut him out using a stitched rectangle die and mounted him on some navy blue cardstock. I chose my patterned paper from Carta Bella and voila! The sentiment is stamped, trimmed and mounted on matching navy blue cardstock. It is hard to see in the photo but I added some Clear Spectrum Sparkle pen to the flower and Silver Wink of Stella to the zipper pull on his jacket. Some ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Egg-stra Special

Welcome back High Hopes Fans!

I had some fun playing with a High Hopes Easter stamp this week. How cute are these two?!

When we were kids we used to put dye and water into a mug and let the egg sit until it was coloured. There was a special wire handle that came in the kit to put the egg in and out of the mug and fun stickers to decorate the eggs with.

Of course, while we were waiting for the dye we would make a huge mess with everything we weren't using . I had to use the fun paint splatter paper on this one! This stamp sure brought back some fun memories!

After the stamp was coloured with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a classic circle die and then cut a scalloped die to go in behind it. The patterned paper pieces were cut to the size I wanted and placed on the card. Antique linen distress ink was put on all of the edges. Some fishtail banner tags were added along with some gumdrops and ribbon to finish off my card.

Brayden Smiles

Happy Wednesday OCS Fans!

My post today features "Brayden" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I like to have a few cards in my stash to be able to send someone who needs a pick me up.

I think Brayden fits the bill for one of my horsey friends - even though he is a donkey. I added a "bow tie" to him just for fun

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I fussy cut him and used a Tuxedo Black marker to go around the edges. Some 3D foam pop dots help him stand off the front of the card.  I put together some patterned paper from an older Echo Park collection and voila. His bow tie was stamped, coloured and fussy cut - I added some white dots but it is hard to see in the photo. A flower with some Stickles in the middle for a bit of bling, gumdrops and a vine die cut finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Mother's Day

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

Spring is in the air and as I type this post it has been feeling like Spring.....until today! As I am typing this, Mother Nature has decided to bless us with some snowsqualls and a special weather statement for the coming week for a snow storm.

The perfect time in my mind to head for my craft room and get creative!
My post today features "Sunday's Best". How daper is this cutie in his dress shirt and pants!
I chose to do a different take on a Mother's Day card - I guess it's kind of masculine and in my mind perfect for a boy to give his mom. Afterall, boys need cards to give to right?

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I restamped his shirt on some plaid patterned paper and fussy cut it out, I did the same for his bow tie.
I used a sketch I love from One Crazy Stamper for my card layout (below).
It is hard to see in the photo but I added some clear Spectrum Sparkle Pen to the flowers for just a hint of glitter. Some corner dies and gumdrops (my fav) finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Springtime Joy

I hope you are enjoying our Anything Goes month here at OCS. It has been fun to see all of the different stamps High Hopes has to offer!

My post today features "Mary Angel" and the "Springtime Joy" sentiment.

I don't know about you but when I was a kid one of the best parts of Spring was the puddles! There was nothing better then grabbing your favourite pair of rubber boots  - or not - and going out and playing in the puddles.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I cut it out using a stitching mark and piercing marks die. I also cut out a doily die to place behind it to add a little "frill".
I cut and double matted my patterned paper from Doodlebug and added some matching cardstock after running it through a cloud embossing folder.

Some Stickles were added to Mary's wings and I added some matching pink polka dot so to the umbrella with a marker.

I had a fun Spring themed die set I used to cut out my rubber boot and umbrella. Some matching twine and some sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

He Lives!

We are having some fun this month on the High Hopes blog. Okay we have fun all the time but it is an Anything Goes month so we get to play with any stamp we want.

Easter is coming and will be here before we know it! My card this week features "He Lives" and the "He Is Risen" sentiment.

Inside

I'm not sure why but this image screamed CAS layout to me. I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. I cut matching purple cardstock and another piece of white cardstock - this piece was run through a polka dot embossing folder to give some texture.

The inside is the same colours of cardstock cut with a stitched rectangle die and then the sentiment was stamped. A flower and some twine finish off my card.

Spring Jelly Bean

Welcome to Day 3 of the March new release in the Whimsy Digital Shop.

The card I have to share with you today features Jelly Bean's Flower. How cute is this elephant watering his flower! I have also used new digital paper from the Vintage Wood and Pink Pop collections.

I started by printing off my stamp to the size I wanted and  colouring it with alcohol markers. Some white polka dots were added to his hat and a sparkle pen was added to the middle of the flower and the butterfly.

A banner die gave me the perfect back drop for this cutie. The sentiment is from the Spring Sentiment Mix. I added a new die I purchased recently called Honeycomb pattern die from Whimsy stamps. I love the texture and element of fun it adds to a card. A few sparkly enamel dots finish off my card.

Double Scoop Fun

Welcome to Day 2 of the March new release in the Whimsy Digital Shop.

I am an animal lover through and through so when I saw this new "Double Scoop Fun" digital stamp I just knew I had to colour it up! My dog is an ice cream fan but it doesn't agree with his stomach so he doesn't get much - I sneak him banana muffins instead....shhhh........

For this card, I started by going into the digital paper section to choose some paper I could use for these cuties. Next I printed off my stamp to the size I wanted and colouring it with alcohol markers.
I added some clouds and grass and cut it out with a circle stitching and pierce mark circle die. The sentiment was created on my computer and cut using a fishtail banner die. A heart from the build a banner dies and some enamel dots finish off my card.

It's A Jungle!

March is here and as I am typing this post we are experiencing unseasonable double digit temperatures - the snow is almost gone and it feels like Spring!

These warm temperatures made me feel like colouring an image that feels like nice warm weather!

Meet "Walk About Wally" who is out on a hike in the jungle. I wonder if he knows he has a monkey friend watching him!?

This card was a marathon to be honest! It was a good idea in my brain but it was hours of colouring and fussy cutting - I can say however, I am very happy with the end result!

I started by stamping, colouring (with alcohol markers) and fussy cutting all of my images. The jungle background was stamped and coloured 4 times to have enough pieces to put my scene together. I cut my patterned cloud paper and mounted them on cardstock and stamped my sentiment. All the pieces were put together on my sidestep card base and voila!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Walk About Wally (Q039) Jungle Background (T050), Lg. Monkey Mike (R083) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Jungle Out There (G203)

Bunny Photo Shoot

Am I the only one who can't believe it is March 1 already!? That means Spring is just around the corner!

This month we are having an Anything Goes challenge (except digital stamps) - how easy and fun is that!?

I chose to use Posing Bunny for my card. We seem to have caught this cutie in her favourite hat doing a Spring/Easter photo shoot.

Our bunny friend is coloured using alcohol markers and then fussy cut. I added a piece of cotton ball to her tail to make it nice and fluffy!
A polaroid die was the perfect piece to make a sky background for this cutie! Some tulips and grass were added to the bottom of the die to create my little scene. A film strip die and my fav gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Posing Bunny (R080- High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Happy March 1st OCS Fans! A new month means a new challenge and this month it is Anything Goes! so grab your favourite stamp (anything but digital) and come play along!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Tink - how cute is he!? I love his name! The stamp name is "Tink Picking Posies" and at the time I was colouring this cutie we were in double digit temperatures and the snow was almost gone! Sure put me in the mood for Spring......minus the mud of course!

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers then cut it out using a stitched rectangle die.  I wanted to keep the layout on this one simple so Tink was the main focus so I cut out a flowery border added it to my layout.

The sentiment was created on my computer and I added some ribbon, a bow, flower and gumdrops to finish off my card.
