Meowy Christmas

The High Hopes design team is continuing to share Christmas in July posts. How talented are my fellow designers!?! I hope you have been inspired to start your Christmas cards - it's never too early!

My card today features "Christmas Kitty Fun" and the "Meowy Christmas Saying" sentiment - both from High Hopes. How cute are these kittens!!! Every cat and kitten I know can play for hours in a box and honestly, I can see one of my brothers doing this to my younger sister......

Close Up

I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and then cut it out leaving a bit of a white edge. I glued it down and cut it out of cardstock and popped them it with pop dots.

I wanted my card to look like a present with ribbon and a bow so I found some paper in my stash from MME and created my card base. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out, again, leaving a bit of an edge and then mounting it on cardstock. Glitter was added to the Santa hat and clear sparkle pen was added to the red bow and to the cardstock bow (hard to see). I left the layout fairly simple on this card because I wanted these two kittens to steal the show.

Catching Flakes

Happy Wednesday High Hopes Fans!
I can't believe it is almost the end of July already! Where has the month gone?!

We are in the middle of a heat wave as I write this post. Temps are in the upper 30's with a humid feels like of close to 40 degrees. Making Christmas/winter cards in this kind of weather helps cool me down! lol

Today's card features "Catching Flakes" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. This stamp brought back fun memories of standing out in the snow with those big wet flakes gently falling down and seeing how many we could catch on our tongue.

Close Up

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I used a stitched rectangle die to cut it out. I added some Stickles to the snow to give it some shine. I coloured the tree and added some Stickles to it after fussy cutting it out. The snow bank is cut with a die and it is the perfect spot for the sentiment. The paper is from Carta Bella and I added a few snow flakes to finish of my card.

Waddles Birthday

My son's girlfriend had a birthday earlier this month and tomorrow we are having a little Birthday dinner for her. She LOVES penguins so I think "Waddles" is perfect for a Birthday card for her.

I love the Waddles line of stamps from Your Next Stamp. They have had some cute new releases lately that are definitely on my wish list.
Since my son's girlfriend is young and full of energy and life I chose to use some bright, fun paper from Photo Play for her card.

Waddles is coloured with alcohol markers and then cut out with the matching die. The bow has Clear Spectrum Sparkle marker on it to add a little sparkle. The sentiment is from the Happy Day Sentiments, also from Your Next Stamp. A few gumdrops finish off my card.

Silent Night

Wow! I can't believe it's Thursday again! Not only is it my day to post but it's one day closer to Fri-YAY!!!

We are featuring Christmas in July on the High Hopes blog and today I am sharing a card using an older High Hopes image called "Shepard's Awe". I love that High Hopes has so many images to choose from you can always find the perfect one!
This stamp is perfect for Christmas cards for my in-laws.
When I saw this stamp, the Silent Nigh Christmas carol came in to my head almost immediately.

As always, I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and then this one I chose to cut out with a stitched square die. This sentiment was created on my computer. A star banner piece was cut out with a die and I added some clear Wink of Stella to it as well as the yellow star - always so hard to see in a photo. A few blueberry gumdrops finish off my card.

And The Lights Were Hung....

We are continuing with our Christmas in July posts here at One Crazy Stamper.

Today my card features an older High Hopes stamp called "Lg. Christmas Mouse". He seems to have gotten himself in quite the predicament and it makes me giggle.

Close Up

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I used my circle cutter to cut him out as well as a background piece of cardstock and popped him up with pop dots. I added silver Wink of Stella to the lights (where they join the cord) and clear Wink of Stella on all the light bulbs. An embossing folder gave me some texture on the piece of white cardstock behind him. The sentiment was typed on my computer and it came from the Twas the night before Christmas poem..I just changed a few words. The sentiment is adhered with pop dots and a mini clip with ribbon. Sparkly gumdrops and ribbon finish off my card.

Sweet Wishes

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

It's Christmas in July on the High Hopes blog and today I am sharing a card using an older High Hopes image called "Gingerbread House". This one caught my eye when I saw it....maybe it's because it spoke to my sweet tooth lol.

This super cute gingerbread house is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a stitched square die. Spectrum Sparkle pens were used to colour in the lollipops so they sparkle even though that's hard to see in the photo. The sentiment was done on my computer. Stampendous Snow was added to the front edge of the house. I LOVE this product - it has yellow, pink and blue flecks in it and you don't need to use Versa Mark ink with this one. It is sticky on it's own so you can move it around to put it exactly where you want it before heat embossing it - so fun!!
I edged the square with antique linen distress ink, added some pink circles cut with a die to the edges and finished it off with some ribbon and an icicle border die. A little bling is brought to the corners with some sparkly gumdrops - perfect for a gingerbread house don't you think?

Card Recipe
Stamps: Gingerbread House (S159)High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Script MT Bold font - computer

Swooshing By

It's Christmas in July and today I'm sharing a super fun slider card with you.

The stamp I used is called "Bearly Swooshin" and I thought it was perfect to make a slider card with. Personally I'm not a skier but this guy sure looks like he's having a great time!

Close Up

After colouring the stamp with alcohol markers I fussy cut him out leaving a thin white edge. I cut my background patterned paper and added some trees. I haven't made a slider card for awhile and I think this is the third one I have ever made so it took a bit off fiddling to get things together properly. Thankfully the "slider pieces" are a die so I could re cut the pieces as I made mistakes lol.
The sentiment is printed from my computer and an icicle border die finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Bearly Swooshin (T202) High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Calibri font - computer
Patterned Paper: Altitude Collection - Bo Bunny

Horse Note Cards

This weekend I challenged myself. Firstly, I wanted to play around with some ink blending, secondly I wanted to use patterned paper and cardstock scraps only (except for card bases) and thirdly to keep my card layout simple.

Below is the end result of the personal challenges I gave myself.

I started by creating my ink blended backgrounds - I still need some practice on this but I'm pretty happy with how they came out. I added some scripty words with a word stamp and markers. One the last one I included some ink splats as well. Then I raided my stash of patterned paper and card stock and assembled my cards. Twine and leather lacing was added to two of them and then I stamped the sentiments and voila! The finished size of each card is 4x4.
I haven't decided if I will give these as a gift set to someone or use them for myself, but I am quite happy with how they came out. I think I may just try doing some with flowers!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Horse - Inkadinkado, Words - Local King Rubber Stamps, Mini Ink Splatter - Your Next Stamp
Sentiments: Everyday Moments - Whimsy Stamps
Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, More Mustard, Lavender Lace, Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink - Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper: Family Jeans - gcd Studios, and my stash
Baker's Twine, Leather Lacing (stash)

Guide My Sleigh

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

This month, the High Hopes design team will be creating with a "Christmas In July" theme featuring older Christmas/Winter stamps from High Hopes.
There are so many fun, cute stamps, it makes making cards easy and fun! The hard part is choosing a favourite!  I will have a head start on my Christmas cards this year! and that is a first!

Now, on to my card - meet "Santa and Rudy"

Santa and Rudy's Close Up

For this card I used a sketch from a challenge I played along in months ago (posted below). Santa and Rudy are coloured with alcohol markers and glitter was added to Santa's suit for fun. Rudy's nose is a glitter gumdrop - so fun!
For the sky background I used Distress Ink with an Inkessentials tool and foam pad and inked away. I added some Stickles for stars and a snow bank for them to stand on. The sentiment was created on my computer.

Cup Of Cocoa

This month the One Crazy Stamper team is sharing cards made with a  "Christmas in July" theme. We will be using older High Hopes Rubber Stamps images featuring Christmas and Winter. There are so many fun, cute images to choose from I can't choose a favourite!

Today my card is featuring "Snowy's Cup" - who doesn't love a hot cup of cocoa on a cold day? I am also using the sentiments "Dot Warn Winter Wishes" and on the inside of my card I have used "Cup of Cocoa".

Snowy's Close Up

Inside Sentiment

Snowy is coloured with alcohol markers, fussy cut and mounted using 3D Foam Pop Dots. The front sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out using a fishtail banner die. I created the background piece by running some matching off white card stock through a snowflake embossing folder to add some texture. The edges of the off white card stock are edged with a burgundy ink and Candy Land glittered gumdrops finish of my card.
The inside (sorry I had a hard time with this picture) has the same patterned paper and the saying is done on matching off white card stock and the edges are inked with burgundy ink.

Friends Are The Magic

July 1 is Canada Day and the first of the month which means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper.

Our Challenge this month is "Christmas In July". I went through my stamps and found these cuties from High Hopes Rubber Stamps called "South Pole Pals" How cute are these two friends!

The day I made this card, we are having the warmest day of the year where I live, so it was fun to do a cold/winter themed card. I coloured my image with alcohol markers and cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. The sentiment was created on my computer and it is from a pillow a good friend of mine gave me.
A ribbon and bow, snowflakes, a silver bell and some gumdrops finish off my card.
