Buckaroo

I am taking a break from making Christmas cards and ornaments to share my card for the YNS Sketch and Colour Challenge #1

You can choose to use the sketch or the colours from the photo - I chose to use the sketch.

I wanted to keep the colours for this card a little more on the masculine side so I can use it for one of my nephews birthdays.

Here is the sketch

Ornaments

There is no better feeling then when you are picturing something in your head and when you actually sit down to do it, it turns out exactly like you pictured it!

I have something different for you today - I made some Christmas Ornaments instead of a card.

Each ornament has a copy of the image on either side, both coloured exactly the same.

I am entering my ornaments into the challenge at Whimsy Stamps - Whimsy Challenge 77 - Two or More Images.

I am also entering Challenge #6 at Not Just Cards Challenges.

They are extremely difficult to photograph so I apologize in advance for the lack of quality photos. Hopefully you get the idea.......I have left the photo extra large so you can see them :)

For the ornament on the left I used a digital stamp called Christmas Gift Horse from Crissy's Digi's at Whimsy Stamps.

The middle ornament is a digital stamp - Wee Stamp freebie from Sylvia Zet - thank you Sylvia - so Cute!!!!

For the ornament on the right I used a digital stamp called Horsey Holidays from Crissy's Digi's at Whimsy Stamps.

The ornaments are plastic photo ornaments I found at a dollar store.

All are coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers (sorry, no list this time) and decorated with items from my stash and Celebrate it ribbon.

I hope you enjoy my post today. Thanks for stopping by!

ShowCASe Your Style - Challenge #1

Whimsy Stamps has started a new challenge blog called ShowCASe Your Style - I have made that a link so you can go take a look!

Challenge #1 is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge - I have included the tic tac toe "card" under my photo.

I chose to go on the diagonal with twine, red and sparkle.

I used a stamp from the Notables 9 - Holidays from the Whimsy Stamps October New Release and can be found here in the Whimsy Store

For this one, I fussy cut the sentiment but I really should invest in the dies that go with these stamps - my cuticle scissors will thank me! It is hard to see in the photo but the flourish sticker I used and the clear dots have a "rainbow" glitter to them - my sparkle part of this challenge.

I'm definitely trying something new today - I put down the markers - GASP!

Card Recipe
Stamp: Notables 9 - Holidays - Whimsy Stamps
Sticker: Little Yellow Bicycle
Pop Dots: Forever In Time
Twine: American Crafts
Glitter Dots: Your Next Stamp
Enamel Dots: Your Next Stamp
Cardstock - from my stash

I hope you have enjoyed my first ever  CAS card!

Comments and thoughts are always welcome!

Seasons Greetings

Practice makes perfect as they say......I'm a long way from perfect but I am practicing.

Today, hubby is out of the house, puppy is mellow so I have time to "play" for a bit and get a couple cards that have been bouncing around in my head for a couple weeks out! Yay me!

Today I worked with Christmas Robin by Time 4 Tea Designs which was part of the October New Release at Whimsy Stamps - she can be found here in the Whimsy Store.

I tried something different by not including the full background die cut for this one and added some hand piercing on the image edge.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Christmas Robin by Time 4 Tea Designs
Patterned Paper: Woodland Winter - Bo Bunny
Die Cuts: Floral Ovals - Spellbinders, Creative Time Dies

Whimsy Stamps Design Team Application

Whimsy Stamps is looking for some new people to add to their design team and I have decided to throw my card in the ring as they say......

The information about the design team call can be found here on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog

One of the requirements is to pick your favourite Whimsy Stamps stamp and design a brand new card for your application.

I have one question - how are you supposed to pick a favourite??!! I have so many favourites!

I have chosen to use Kicking Up Leaves by Crissy Armstrong which can be found  here at the  Whimsy Stamps  store.

I would also like to include two other projects I have done using Whimsy Stamps.

For my first card I used Wee Stamps - Ruby by Sylvia Zet which can be found at here in the Whimsy Stamps store

For my second card I used Christmas Robin by Time 4 Tea designs which can be found here in the Whimsy Stamps Store

I am new to card making and I have loved Whimsy Stamps from the start.

There are numerous artists all with their own style which makes it easy to find the stamp you require for your own style and project.

Participating in monthly challenges and having the privilege of being a guest designer with Whimsy Stamps, has pushed me to expand my creativity, photography and colouring skills and to  try to find "my style" - still a work in progress.

To be chosen to be part of the Whimsy Stamps design team would help me continue to grow and expand my skills and creativity, and I would be honoured to work with such a fun, talented, encouraging team.

Thank you for considering my application.

This stamp - Special Friends by Crissy Armstrong makes my heart melt every time I see it.

October YNS Challenge

I am on holidays and I am having my family over for Thanksgiving dinner and there is a ton! of things I should be doing to get ready.

Instead, I have taken some time to make my card for the monthly challenge at Your Next Stamp. I find colouring and crafting relaxing so why shouldn't I - I'm on holidays after all - time to relax right?!

I made my card based on the sketch. I chose to use tags and I also challenged myself personally to NOT include a sentiment which is hard for me to do.

                                                  Card Recipe
Stamp: Tobi's Dearest Deer - Your Next Stamp Digi
Patterned Paper: Handmade Christmas - Simple Stories
Glitter Dots: Silver Glitter Gum Drops - Your Next Stamp
Snow: Snow Writer - Deco Art
                    Glitter: Hero Arts
     Spectrum Noir Markers: DG4, DG2, EB1, TN1, DR7, DR5,TN7, TN8, EB8, GB10, GB8, CT3, FS2, FS3, TN2

I guess I should go get some preparation done now.....or .......maybe not! I have other cards bouncing around in my head.........

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have enjoyed my project for today.
