Snow Sweet

I can't believe that I am posting my last card for Christmas in July this week! The month sure flew by and I have had so much fun getting started on this years cards!  I love to send/give cards to friends at Christmas and this week my card featuring "Birdies Friend Snowlady" and "Landing Birdie" will be perfect for one of them. How fun would it be to receive a sparkly snowflake gift from a friend!

To begin my card, I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured the stamps with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I added some polka dots on the snowlady's patched with a white gel pen. I decided on patterned paper from Echo Park and Honey Bee Stamps to create the card base. After cutting the blue paper to size, I added a die cut snow bank and some die cut snow flakes. Next, I cut a small line in the bird's beak and slipped a sparkly snowflake die cut into the slit so it looked like it is in it's mouth. I stamped both sentiments and added them to matching card stock and added the stamps with foam pop dots. Some twine and enamel dots finish off my card.

Christmas Monkey

Welcome to Christmas in July at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. The design team is getting a head start on their Christmas cards and will be providing inspiration all month long!

Apparently "Ski Bum Monkey" was inspired by the photos he took on his winter vacation last year. He has chosen his favourite photo to send out as his Christmas cards this year!

After stamping the monkey and mountains on alcohol marker friendly paper I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them.
I set them aside and found patterned paper from Recollections and cut them to fit my card 5"x 5" card base. Next I cut a polaroid die, trees and a piece of snow. Before gluing anything down, I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment on the polaroid frame.
I cut a piece of matching patterned paper to go across the middle of the card, and glued the mountains, trees and snow down. Next I added the polaroid frame over the mountains and added some sparkly snowflakes (hard to see in the photo) and ribbon. Ski Bum Monkey was added with foam pop dots and enamel dots finish off the card.

Waiting For Santa

The Christmas Cheer release is now live and full of adorable images to help you get your Christmas card started!

When I saw the "Santa Boy & Reindeer Dog" stamp in this release I pictured them sitting under the tree waiting for Santa. I had made some cascade front or double angle card bases a couple weeks ago and decided to try to bring my idea to life on one of these bases. This fold is easier to make than it looks and folds flat for mailing. Perfect for a Christmas card!

After stamping this adorable pair on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and stamped my sentiment. This is cut in half as it stuck out the side too far to leave it in the original shape.
Using some templates I had cut, I added some wood patterned paper to the base. Next, I cut more pine branches than I can count - I was seeing them when I closed my eyes - and formed my Christmas tree on the base. I added some hand fussy cut light strings cut from a 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper I had in my stash.  To finish my card, I glued down the sentiment (after adding it to matching card stock) and image and added a die cut star to the top of the tree.

Christmas Smiles

Santa gets his picture taken a lot over the Christmas season. Did you know he does practice photo shoots!?!

Santa Portrait and Three Pane Santa from High Hopes Rubber Stamps have caught him having some fun and practicing to get his smile and the twinkle in his eye just right!

After stamping and colouring my stamps I hand fussy cut each one and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I may have missed. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the hats and set them aside to dry. Patterned paper from Photo Play was perfect for this fun design.
I didn't have a polaroid die that was small enough for my design so I cut a piece of card stock to the size I needed and then used a square die to cut out the "portrait" space.
My film strip die is larger then the three pane Santa's so I cut a strip of card stock and patterned paper and added the panes in kind of a faux film strip and added two of the three Santa's to it. The third Santa was added in the top corner with a banner die behind him. I did some creative masking to combine two different sentiment stamps to make the sentiment.
Some ribbon, snowflakes, a camera charm and enamel dots finish off my card.
