Stitched With Love

I have a few friends and a ton of family who love quilting. I did a little bit of the stitching by hand when I was growing up but I haven't tried the cutting and piecing that goes into making the quilt top. My Grandmother rocked quilting and I have a number of her quilts in my home. My favourite is what I call my "Memories" quilt because the material used on it is all from clothes I had when I was younger - so cool!

I have a number of aunts who love quilting too so when I got a special request for a birthday card for one of them, I knew "Kathy Quilting Angel" from High Hopes would be perfect!

After stamping "Kathy" and colouring her with Copic markers I hand fussy cut her and left a thin white edge around her.
Next I glued her on matching card stock and cut her out again leaving a thin border. I added her to the card using pop dots and added some Star Dust Stickles to her wings.
Patterned Paper from the Twitterpated collection from Stampin' Up worked perfectly for my card. I cut out stitched squares with a die and set them aside. I laid out my stitched squares in a quilt type pattern on card stock, glued them down when I was happy with it and hand cut a thin edge around it to help them pop off the background.
Next I created a sentiment on my computer and cut it out using a stitched fish tail banner die and die cut a small heart in it just for fun. I masked off the Pirate's Birthday stamp to include a Happy Birthday sentiment and added a die cut spool of thread with a heart. Some cotton lace ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Sew Sweet

Happy Thursday High Hopes fans! It is officially summer - whoo hooo!

I used "Kathy Quilting Angel" and the Sew Sweet sentiment, both fun, older stamps from High Hopes. I personally am not a quilter, I've tried it and honestly it's not my thing but I have a ton of family who love to quilt. I have also been blessed with a lot of quilts made by my Grandmother and there is a ton of love in every stitch.

I wanted my card to look like a quilt piece in progress. After colouring my image and cutting it out, I edged it with some matching turquoise ink. I created my background by using some left over pieces of paper and cutting them into 1" squares. It is not noticeable in the photo but the wings have clear Wink of Stella on them for a bit of glitter and Star Dust Stickles was added to the flower centres for a bit of bling. Sparkly gumdrops and a piece of ribbon finish off my card.

Born To Golf

The countdown to the first official day of summer is on! so I thought a golfing card would be fun to play with this week.
I personally don't golf but I have more then a few friends and family who do. "Swinging Sherry, Golf Cart" and a sentiment from the Sentiment #4 set from High Hopes all helped me bring my vision to life.

I started my card by cutting my side step base and colouring and fussy cutting my images. I added some fun patterned paper from Echo Park I got on my last road trip to One Crazy Stamper a couple weeks ago and some grass and flowers. The fun clouds were added using some clear acetate - they look like they are hanging there on their own don't they?!?
The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a stitched rectangle die. Star Dust stickles give to bling to the flower centres and a few gumdrops finish off my card. Sherry is popped up with pop dots as well.

Before Coffee

Hello OCS Fans!

I got in touch with my CAS (Clean and Simple) side this week. I LOVE my coffee and for some reason when I saw this Loungin' Lizzy stamp from High Hopes it reminded me of myself before coffee. I admit, I'm a bit of a bear before my coffee. I love Lizzy's expression so I wanted to keep my card simple to focus on her. I also have to admit I don't do rollers in my hair....just sayin.....

I also have to admit I find it very hard to take a good photo of an all white background card - but practice makes perfect so I will keep working on that.
I coloured Lizzy with alcohol markers and paper pieced her bath robe. I LOVE her bunny slippers! Silver Wink of Stella adds a little bit of sparkle to her earrings. I cut my white background piece to the size I wanted and after creating my sentiment on my computer printed it and voila! A striped matching paper was added to the outside edge and gumdrops finish off my card.

Happy Trails!

This week I have been playing with an older stamp from High Hopes called "Cowgirl Candice". It's no secret I love horses so this stamp was perfect to add to my horse stamp "collection".....and yes, it is a collection!

I stamped Cowgirl Candice using my Misti and fussy cut her, I don't think my scissors miss me anymore! I wanted to keep my background in more neutral tones so the stamp would pop - but I love the flowered paper from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection so I had to include it. I used walnut stain distress ink with a flourish corner stamp I have in my stash to add to the corners and to ink the paper edges.
Some red boots add some fun to this image I think (thank you Cheri for the suggestion)! I added some Silver Wink of Stella to the rings on the bridle and some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers.  The "Happy Trails" sentiment (also from High Hopes) and some ivory gumdrops finish off my card.

A Friend Helps You Shop...

It's the first of June and that means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper. This month it's Anything Goes!

For this month's challenge I used "Shopping Divas" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I made a purse/shopping bag for these two shopping friends.

Close Up

I started by cutting the matching svg files (07 and 14) for the stamp with my Cricut, stamped it using my Misti and coloured the girls with SN/Copic alcohol markers. I used the Card Purse tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers to form my purse/shopping bag. You can find the link here. I created the sentiment on my computer. I added Clear, Gold and Silver Wink of Stella to the glasses and jewellry for some bling.

Player Photo Day

Happy Thursday OCS Fans! It is the last Thursday in May already but there is still time for you to play along in this month's challenge!

My inspiration post for today is made with "Dribble Master" from the Spring Collection 2016 from High Hopes. Today we find our dribble master getting her player photo taken and she's the MVP for the team this year! I will add the sentiment inside when I have an occasion to use my card.

Close Up

I started by cutting the matching svg file for the stamp with my Cricut, stamped it using my Misti and coloured her with SN alcohol markers. A film strip and polaroid die cut were added to from my background. The patterned paper is from the 6x6 Life Documented pad from Simple Stories. I added some blue brackets from a Quickutz label and the MVP sticker is from Paper House. The edges are inked with Studio G ink. I added some sparkle with the Give Thanks for Sparkle gumdrops from Your Next Stamp.

Twisting The Night Away

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans! We're one day closer to Fri-YAY, a night when girlfriends often go out to a night club and let their hair down. Personally, I'm usually in my pj's by 9 p.m. but I used to .... honest I did!

I tried a new card layout this week using "Shake Your Booty" and "Don't Stop The Music" from the Spring 2016 Collection new release. Since our girls are twisting the night away, my card base is a Twisted Easel.

Close Up

This card was kind of hard to take a full shot of but I hope you get the idea.

I started by cutting out the girls and sentiment with the matching SVG files, both 07 & 14 - one for the stamp and one for the background. I coloured them using SN alcohol markers an added silver Wink of Stella for some bling - we know there has to be bling for a night out right!?!

A screen print provided some music notes which are mounted on paper from Bo Bunny and MME. To complete my idea, I used a clear ball off a piece of jewellery for my Disco light. The girls are popped up on pop dots.

My Sunshine

Happy Thursday OCS Fans! I hope you're all having a great week!

I don't know about you, but every once and awhile a stamp reminds you of a friend, situation or a fun time in your life.

That happened for me this week when I used the "Besties" stamp. One of my dear childhood friends has an orange striped cat she has had for 16 years. Her name is Sunshine and she rules the roost over the dog!

Close Up

I have to be honest, I didn't want to try colouring the stripes on the cat, but I dis succeed with leaving her white belly and paw tips. The card in my head was working out fine until my favourite outlining marker ran out of ink a 1/4 of the way through outlining the stamp - grrrr!!! I ended up fussy cutting the stamp when I hadn't intended too!

After colouring and fussy cutting my image, I cut out a doily from YNS for the sun. All the edges of the patterned paper from Basic Grey and Forever In Time are inked with pumpkin pie ink from Stampin' Up. American Crafts Twine, a flower from Prima and some sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Road Trip Selfie

It's Thursday and my turn to share another super cute stamp from the High Hopes Spring 2016 Collection. Meet "Sally Takes A Selfie".

Today we find Sally on a road trip to the Rocky Mountains. Of course she had to stop and take a selfie in front of them.

Sally is cut out using the SVG files for both the stamp (07) and the background (14) and stamped using my Misti - love my Misti! I coloured her using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
My challenge to myself was to use a different hair colour then my "go to's" like blond or brown - I really like the red tones with this combination. The Rocky Mountains were stamped and coloured leaving just a peak of snow on top of a few of them.
The sentiment is also from the new release and cut with the matching SVG file (07) and added to a polaroid die cut. Gold Wink of Stella was added to her heart necklace and the flash of her camera - a girl's gotta have a little bling! A white gel pen was used to add some fun polka dots to her bow and socks and an alcohol marker was used for her freckles.

Hello

   Welcome Back High Hopes Fans!

I hope you have been enjoying all of the awesome cards and projects the design team has been sharing from the Spring 2016 Collection new release.

I have nieces, nephews and a god daughter who like many adults I know have their phone on them 24/7 - I mean who doesn't now a days...I admit I do!
"On The Phone" is the perfect stamp for almost any occasion for the teen, preteen or many adults in your life. The sentiment will be added on the inside of this card once I have an occasion to use if for.

The stamp is coloured with alcohol markers and it's hard to see in the picture but I added some clear Wink of Stella to the phone for a bit of sparkle. I used Stitched Oval Dies to cut her out and then placed a light turquoise oval behind. I felt like the word paper from the Life Documented 6x6 pad from Simple Stories was perfect for this card. Some ribbon and some sparkly gumdrops finish off the card.

Tiny Dancer

Hello OCS Fans! I hope you're having a great weekend!
A new month means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper and this month it's Anything Goes!

My post features "Miss Katie" and "Don't Stop The Music" from the High Hopes Spring Collection 2016 Collection.

The inspiration for this card came from my child hood. My friends and I all had to have a jewelry box that had a ballerina inside ( I might be showing my age here). There was a wind up on the bottom and when you wound it up and opened the lid with the mirror the ballerina twirled around and around.

I have tried to imitate this jewelry box by making a Drawer Easel Card (tutorial here) my first time trying this style of card.
I started by cutting out Miss Katie and my sentiment svg files with my Cricut and stamped them using my Misti. Miss Katie is coloured with alcohol markers. I followed the tutorial to form my box, added patterned paper and then formed the easel card for the top.
Next I cut out a piece of Heidi Swapp toner paper with a die and added silver foil to create my mirror. Miss Katie has a piece of chipboard type paper behind her in an "L" shape to help her stand. Clear Wink of Stella, glitter gumdrops and a rose finish off my card.

Supplies Used: Miss KatieMiss Katie SVGDon't Stop The Music, Don't Stop The Music SVG, Minc Copic Xpress It CardstockCopic MarkersMemento Tuxedo Black Ink,  Heidi Swapp Toner Paper, Heidi Swapp Silver Foil, Large Labels Dies - Spellbinders, Rose - Recollections, Clear Wink of Stella, White Sugar and Sparkly Gumdrops - Your Next Stamp.
