Sending Pony Smiles

Yesterday I had the chance to go to a crafty garage sale. As I was flipping through the stamps I came across this adorable stamp from Lili Of The Valley called Me And My Pony. It is retired but anyone who knows me knows......if it's a horse stamp it is coming home with me and going in to my "collection". It was later in the day when I got back so first thing this morning I was excited to get to colouring and creating with my new stamp. Hoping this brings a smile to one of my horsey friends.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and cut the stamp out with a notched rectangle die. I used a circle punch to cut the corners to match the die.....well, I tried......they aren't perfect but they are close. I set is aside and combined patterned paper from three different companies to create my design. I added the sentiment, ribbon, enamel dots and a wood horseshoe to finish off my card.

Stamp - Me And My Pony - Lili Of The Valley Stamps
Sentiment - Every Day Mini Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps

Merry Christmas Friend

I am in Christmas card making mode and finally getting a chance to post this card. I have a few horsey friends on my card giving list so I try to make a few each year. I love the Whimsy Stamps horse drawn by Crissy Armstrong and for this card I have chosen to use Christmas Pony. I used the rubber stamp which I think may be retired but it is available as a digital stamp.

This is one of the first stamps I bought and I hope it brings one of my horsey friends a smile and some Christmas cheer.

After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black on alcohol marker friendly paper I coloured them Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I found some paper from MME and Carta Bella and created my scene with some die cut snow banks and trees. I added some white glitter snowflakes cut with a punch from white glitter paper in my stash. Next I cut out a pleated circle background and added matching card stock behind it and matching patterned paper and snow flakes to the top of it.
To create the sentiment, I used three different sentiments, one of them I had to mask off and hope I got things straight and the placement right.
I glued down the stamp, added some ribbon and finished it off with some enamel dots and Star Dust Stickles on the pony's hat.

Stamp: Christmas Pony - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment - Mini Every Day and Holiday Mini Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps

Best Friends

This stamp drawn by the talented Crissy Armstrong has been on my wish list for forever so when it came out as a digital stamp I knew I needed to get it off my wish list once and for all.
There is something about this stamp.......for me there are no words. I find it so calming - maybe it's because it reminds me and my horse and the relationship we had. This stamp just makes my heart happy and I am glad I finally had time to colour it up.

I printed the stamp to the size I wanted and then coloured it with alcohol markers and Prismacolor pencils. I wanted to do a simple design to keep the focus on this gorgeous stamp. Paper from Simple Stories and Echo Park were perfect. A simple heart banner, cotton lace, wood horseshoe and gumdrops were the perfect pieces to finish off my card.
I decided not to include a sentiment on the front and will include it on the inside when I decide what event I will give it for.

Rocking Horse Christmas

I am a horse lover through and through and I have a lot of horse loving friends. I try to use a different stamp every year for my horsey Christmas cards and this "Rocking Horse" digital stamp from Whimsy is perfect for one of the cards I need for this year.
I decided to make this one with an acetate front for something different.

After printing and colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and a prisma pencil, I hand fussy cut it and went around the edge with a black marker to cover any white I had missed. It is hard to see in the photo but I added a clear sparkle pen to the bow.
Next I cut my card base, cardstock and gorgeous patterned paper from the Winter's Magic Blue digital paper pack. I cut it to fit the inside and then held my breath and stamped my sentiments using my Misti. The "and" sign in between my sentiments is added with a black marker.
I used a stitched border trio die to cut my snow banks and added a few die cut trees.
Some sparkly ribbon and gum drops finish off my card.

Feeling Down?

Welcome to Day 3 of the new digital release at Whimsy Stamps!

My new release card features the new "Western Pony" digital stamp. When I had my horse, for me the biggest stress reliever "put life back in perspective" moments were all on the back of my horse.

We loved to trail ride and he loved to keep me on my toes on every ride. For me the sentiment sticker I had in my stash sums things up perfectly! Life always felt more manageable after a trail ride.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and pencils I hand fussy cut it and ran a black maker around the edge to get any white I had missed.
I added some silver wink of stella to parts of the saddle, bridle and breast plate on the buckles and conchos.
My card base was cut with a side step die and I added digital paper from the "Floral Grass" digital paper collection. The sentiment is a sticker from my stash. The lasso and cowboy boot are from Jolee's and Dress It Up buttons.

Get Your Happy

I couldn't let the month of sharing some of my favourite things with you without sharing one of my favourite High Hopes stamps with you!

Classy Clydesdale was in one of the first new releases I got to play with as a design team member.
Today's card is a reminder to be happy! My horse used to remind me of this every once and a while. If I was too stressed out or he felt I needed a laugh he would always do something to make laugh......like walk over to the garbage can and pull a Tim Horton's coffee cup out of the garbage and stand there bopping it back and forth..........and many more stories believe me!

Classy Clydesdale just looks so happy and seems to like to have fun so I thought he was perfect for my card.

This week's card was started by making my background paper. I used some inks from stamping up and my ink blending tool and went to work. I added the mini butterfly ink splatter and cut out my pieces using a stitched rectangle die.
The stamp was coloured and fussy cut a very long time ago - it has been on the corner of my white board watching every move I make but I felt it was perfect for my card this week so voila!
Some gingham ribbon, a wooden horseshoe and sparkly gumdrops - more of my favourite things finish off my card.

Happy Trails!

This week I have been playing with an older stamp from High Hopes called "Cowgirl Candice". It's no secret I love horses so this stamp was perfect to add to my horse stamp "collection".....and yes, it is a collection!

I stamped Cowgirl Candice using my Misti and fussy cut her, I don't think my scissors miss me anymore! I wanted to keep my background in more neutral tones so the stamp would pop - but I love the flowered paper from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection so I had to include it. I used walnut stain distress ink with a flourish corner stamp I have in my stash to add to the corners and to ink the paper edges.
Some red boots add some fun to this image I think (thank you Cheri for the suggestion)! I added some Silver Wink of Stella to the rings on the bridle and some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers.  The "Happy Trails" sentiment (also from High Hopes) and some ivory gumdrops finish off my card.

Make It Better

Wow! It's the first of March and spring is just around the corner!

A new month means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper.

I am a horse lover, well an animal lover to be honest, but horses hold a special place in my heart and always will. I grew up riding my friends horses and had the pleasure of being owned by one - yes you read that correctly lol, for 12.5 years.

I have more then a few horse stamps but when I saw this one from Your Next Stamp I knew I had to add it to my "collection". There are two stamps with sentiments in this set and it is available at One Crazy Stamper.

I started by colouring my stamp and cutting it out with a stitched square die. I inked the edges and mounted it on cardstock. The patterned paper is cut using fishtail banner dies. Some green vines, a flower and gumdrops (my favourite) finish off my card.

Stamp: Jessica With Her Horse - Your Next Stamp
