Lazy Daisy Gift Set

We have had a lot of spring type weather where I live. Normally we are covered in a ton of snow at this time of year, but this year we have had a lot of sun and double digit temperatures. It feels like spring and spring to me means flowers!!

I planted some daffodil bulbs in the summer and they have started to come up already! I am hoping the little bit of snow and freezing temperatures we had on the weekend don't kill them but somehow I think they will be alright. The new daffodils and a tulip coming up inspired my cards for this week. I decided to do a card gift set featuring the Lazy Daisy Lady Bug stamp and a number of sentiments from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Am I the only one ready to see some spring flower beauty in the flower beds?

After stamping the image 5 times on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out using a square die. Next, I grabbed my Misti and some of my favourite High Hopes sentiment and stamped each daisy with it's own sentiment. Truth be told, the two smaller Just A Note cards are the result of a sentiment I masked off that I didn't stamp straight, so I trimmed them down to create two smaller cards. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple for this set and added them to a piece of black card stock. There are three 4.5" x 4.5" cards and two approximately 4" x 3.25" cards in this set and I am hoping someone in my life will be able to use them.

Note From A Hedgy

I love having cards on hand to send as a pick me up or just to say hi to someone in my life who needs a smile or to know I am thinking of them. I can't help but smile along with "Hedgy In Tulip" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps as he greets his butterfly friend and I hope this brings a smile to the recipient as well.

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp leaving a very thin white edge. Those who follow me know I use manicure scissors for fussy cutting but this week I took a new pair of scissors for a spin......I like them but I will have to get used to them.
Next I cut a piece of white card stock and blended some Perfect Plum ink in an oval shape in the background.
Next I put the card stock in my Misti and stamped the sentiment and rounded the corners on the right side. I set that aside and cut coloured card stock to fit my A2 size base and cut a notebook edge on the side and on the white card stock piece and rounded the two right corners. I didn't like how the two looked when they laid on top of each other so I put the cut off piece from the die back in to the coloured card stock piece and glued everything down.
I glued the stamp into the middle of the ink blend and added a few clear dots to finish off the card.

Note From A Panda

Every once and awhile, I like to send a card to a friend or family member to let them know I am thinking about them or to thank them for something they have done and a whole host of other reasons. "Gentle Panda" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps just makes me smile right along with him and I think he is perfect for this type of card.

After stamping this cutie on alcohol marker friendly paper and colouring him with Copic markers, I hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge. I decided to do a clean and simple style card and I wanted to play with ink so, I cut a base piece of white card stock and a circle die. After centering and taping down the circle die, I selected some inks and brushes. Very carefully, I added the inks to the inside of the circle die in layers. Once that was done, I removed the die and used my Misti to stamp the sentiment. All of this was added to a simple piece of black card stock and voila! A clean and simple card that will hopefully bring a smile.

Just A Note

This week I decided to challenge myself. I am feeling a little creatively challenged so when that happens I give myself a challenge or in this case 2 in hopes of kicking my creativity in to gear. The first challenge I gave myself was to use a colour of paper I don't use very often - in this case pink, and the second challenge was to do a more clean and simple card than I usually do with the stamp I chose to use. My card features "Prancing Pup" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and is perfect to send to someone who needs a pick me up.

I stamped this adorable pup on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured him with Copic markers and hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge. Next I found some pink patterned paper from Craft Consortium, Lawn Fawn and my stash. I cut the background paper to fit the A2 size card base, rounded the corners and used some fish tail banner dies to cut the other pieces of paper. I played around with layering the banners for a little bit and then added the stamped sentiment in to the mix. The stamp was added with foam pop dots and some enamel dots finish my card.

Not A Bill

I don't know about you but I love getting happy mail! I have most of my packages delivered to my office because the post office is open less hours than I work but I also love getting cards delivered to my home address.
There is something about getting a card especially a handmade one that gives me the warm fuzzies and makes me smile. I like to send cards too - sometimes "just because and of course for the traditional Christmas and holidays.
"Not A Bill" from the Gnome Mania new release will be perfect for me to send to my friends and family who need a pick me up or just so they know I am thinking about them.

After stamping this cutie on Copic marker friendly paper, I colored him cut him out using a cross stitch die and set him aside. Patterned paper from the Cream and Sugar and So Punny paper pads from Doodlebug were perfect for my card. I cut them to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base and to fit the layers for my design. I used a notebook edge die on the edge of one of the pieces and stamped the sentiment and put it on matching card stock and tucked it under the image. A bow and some enamel dots finish off my card.
