Christmas Believe

I not sure which I need more of .... snowman or penguin Christmas cards. I have friends and family who love them so I end up colouring a lot of each every year. Thankfully, High Hopes Rubber Stamps has lots of snowman stamps. "Believe Snowman"  is one of my favourites and I make at least one card (it's usually more <smile>) with this stamp every year.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic sketch markers and cut the stamp out with a slash stitched die. I added some Star Dust Stickles the to the snow and icicles - I like a bit of sparkle on my Christmas cards. Patterned paper from Echo Park was perfect to create my card design with. After cutting the layers, everything was glued together and glued down on the card. I stamped the sentiment and added it under the ribbon bow. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Winter Moose Trio

Now that most of the birthday cards I need are done I can focus on the next big thing...Christmas cards!!!! I also need to make a ton of them so with some cooler weather where I live this weekend, I was inspired to officially start the Christmas season..... in my craft room as least! I am starting off the season with a trio of cards featuring Winter Moose from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

How cute is he!!??

I stamped the moose three times on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut two and cut one with a rectangle die. Next I got out some of my Echo Park paper pads and my stash and cut each piece to fit my card bases. 2 are A2 size and the square card is 5" x 5". I laid out each design and glued everything down. I added clear sparkle pen to the snowflakes and on the blue and card with the circle on it, popped the stamp up with 3D foam dots. Ribbon, enamel and sparkly dots and Star Dust Stickles on the hats and scarves finish off my cards.

Snowy Merry Christmas

I am still working away on my Christmas card to do list. The weeks and days are flying by ....but I work best under pressure?...that's the story I'm sticking to anyway <smile>. I have a lot of people on my list who like snowmen so I have done a card for one of them this week featuring Snow Kisses from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I coloured this adorable stamp with Copic markers, hand fussy cut it and added some white polka dots to her scarf and mitts just for fun. I set the stamp aside and found some patterned paper from Echo Park and cut it to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base. I glued down the paper layers and added a piece of ribbon and a bow in the corner. I stamped the sentiment, cut it out using a fishtail banner die and hung it down the side of the card for something different and fun. The stamped image was added with foam pop dots and I added some sparkle with Star Dust Stickles on the hat and scarf. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Wintery Christmas

It is the first few weeks of fall where I live but I know Christmas is just around the corner and I have a lot of cards to make so I am sneaking a Christmas card in in hopes of checking one more off my list. I love the High Hopes Christmas stamps and for this card I used the adorable "Wintery Owl". He is so cute all bundled up in his big scarf and pom pom hat!

I coloured this cutie with Copic markers, hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge and added some Star Dust Stickles to his hat and scarf and some clear sparkle pen to his Christmas ornaments. This is an A2 size card so I cut my card stock and patterned paper to fit my card base, added some ribbon and glued it down. Next, I cut a circle out of card stock and patterned paper and when I had decided where I wanted it to sit on the card, I trimmed off on side of the circle and glued down the stamp.
Some white glittery icicles were perfect to add to the top edge of the card and under the sentiment. I added a bow to the ribbon, some snowflakes cut out of a border die and some matte dots to finish off my card.

From Our Gnome

I have the shakes this week! As in I made what I am calling a full front shaker card. It is the first time I have tried this style and it was a ton of fun! Of course I  would change a few things next time but over all I think my card featuring "Snowy Gnome" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps will make one of the young people or adults on my card giving list smile!

I started my card by stamping Snowy Gnome on alcohol friendly paper, colouring him with Copic markers and hand fussy cutting him leaving a thin white edge. I set him aside and found a snowy background paper from Whimsy Stamps and cut it to fit my 5" x 5" base. I die cut some houses and added a bit of white acrylic paint to the roofs and some glitter so it looked like snow. While that was drying I cut some stitched snowy hills and added paint and glitter to the edges as well. I glued down the snow hills and houses on the base and set it aside.

To create my full front shaker, I cut a page protector in a square half an inch larger all the way around then my base. I glued down three sides and added some seed beads, sequins and a glitter mix and then glued the last side closed. All of this glued down to the card base.

I glued my gnome down in the middle of the card and added two sentiments, a silver snowflake charm and a bow to the corner. I added some black stitch lines around the sentiments to help them stand out a bit. Glitter dots finish of my card.

Penguin Christmas

Oh my goodness! Have you seen the It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas release? So many fun, cute stamps that are perfect to help get your Christmas/winter card mojo going!

I have a lot of people who love penguins in my life so "Penguin Presents" was a perfect stamp for me to get to create a card with. I have a hard time remembering from year to year which stamp I used on who's card so to have a few new penguin stamps to choose from is perfect in my world. <smile>

I chose to do my take on a Front Flap style card.

I stamped my image, coloured it with Copic markers, added some polka dots to his scarf with a white gel pen  and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I set him aside and chose some patterned paper from Photo Play to match. I created my card base by cutting some matching card stock to a 5.5" x 5.5" size.

Next, I cut a quarter of an inch off the outside of the top piece so the plaid background which is actually the inside of the card would show on the front. What I didn't think about is that by doing that, the card actually won't sit to be displayed because there isn't anything there for it it sit on. I decided to continue with my take on the design because I have a few people in my life who display their card laying down - phew! I cut some snowflake paper for the top of the card and added some ribbon and a sentiment. Then I measured my stamp to figure out how big my "flap" needed to be, cut it and added a snowy hill, a snowflake border and my stamped image, glued it to the card base and added the plaid patterned paper.

To finish off the card I stamped a sentiment on the inside on a piece of white card stock and added some enamel dots to the front.

Penguin Merry Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........on my blog and in my craft space anyway! Where I live we are in the throws of summer heat and humidity so doing Christmas cards in July definitely helps cool things down in my space.

I have a number of people in my life who love penguins so the re-release of "Penguin On Ice" in the Christmas in July release was perfect timing for my Christmas card making adventures. I definitely see more of this cutie in my card making future. Without further ado......meet Penguin On Ice from High Hopes Rubber Stamps!

I stamped this cutie and coloured him with Copic markers and added some Stickles to his hat. I have recently switched to Copics so I am having fun learning colour combos and just having fun colouring over all.
After I finished the colouring, I cut out the image using a slash stitched round square die. I chose patterned paper from Echo Park and planned and cut each layer. I added some die cut icicles to the layers to keep the theme of the stamp as he is sitting on an ice pad.
A tiny bow and the sentiment finish off my card.

Mudzie's Gift

Mudzie is patiently....or not so patiently waiting for Christmas. He seems to have found the perfect gift for someone on his list, and I have another Christmas card done using Mudzie's Gift from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I love finding the gifts people on my list want but every once and awhile I find a gift so perfect for someone that they didn't ask for and I can't wait to give it to them. Sometimes I want to give it to them early because I know how perfect it is for them and how much they will appreciate it.

After stamping and colouring Mudzie and his perfect gift with Copics, I added some Diamond Stickles to the gift bow and cut him out using a rectangle die. Patterned paper from the A Cozy Christmas by Echo Park was perfect for this stamp. I stamped the sentiment, cut it and mounted it on matching cardstock. A simple glitter ribbon bow and enamel dots finish off my design.

Flying Christmas Wishes

I'm flying in with some Merry Christmas wishes with "Flying Gnome" from the New Christmas release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it! I love cardinals and I love gnomes so this stamp is the perfect combo for a high flying Christmas card!

I coloured up this high flying duo with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I questioned my sanity when I had to cut around the holly and berries and caught myself holding my breath a few times but it came out okay.
When I saw the Warm and Cozy paper pad from Echo Park I knew this paper would be perfect for this stamp. I added a "tree line" with a pine tree stamp from my stash to add some depth to my card. I thought the scripty Merry Christmas sentiment was perfect for this high flying duo. A few holly leaves, ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.
